I am looking at ordering a CW 5 door DSG with black talladegas, Vienna pack and RNS510. At first I was thinking like a tight ass and considered buying a sat nav aftermarket and fitting it myself but if the price is right I shouldnt have to worry.
Spoke to someone at Burwin VW that some of the boys put me onto and he said he can do roughly around $57k for those options (hinting that he can do better) which was around $62 RRP. I am going to push for a bit more... is that reasonable? from what I have read I should be right squeezing a bit more out of him?Current Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

found a pretty bumpy road today, it was very jittery in normal mode but put ACC in comfort and wow - much better! not limo-smooth, but it does make a noticeable difference.Current: MY18 Golf R 7.5 DSG - FOR SALE

I thought this might be the most appropriate place to post this.
My experience with buying a Golf R.
I assume there are good dealers and there are bad ones. I have managed to get a good one. In Adelaide there are very limited dealers. I
visited one initially but they treated me just like a number. It was very much, halfway through discussions, please hold that thought, run to
another customer. I then went to Solitaire in Hawthorn, much nicer environment where they offered the time and went through features of the car etc.
After dealing with Solitaire in Hawthorn, managed to get a fantastic price for a
Golf R 5Dr DSG
Sat nav
Dynaudio
Leather
RVC
Bluetooth
ACC/DCC
I bought a Golf R last year in November for delivery in April/May. A few days later, I worked out that I would not be around for the following few months and
therefore was unable to pick up the car. I asked them whether I could hold off the car and grab an MY12 when they arrived.
This was a push given that it was an uncertainty for them with regards to price fluctuations however they were happy to oblige and hold off on the order which I was very appreciative of.
I called them up in April and told them to place through the order.
Worked out later that bluetooth was standard on MY12 and without asking, they refunded the bluetooth which I know some others on this forum haven't been able to
achieve.
After this, I didn't hear from my dealer with regards to delivery for a while. Eventually I got a call explaining the situation. My car had been pushed back until
next year by Volkswagen Australia. Apparently quite a few were which might explain dvljoy's car not arriving. The salesperson and the manager were in discussion for the previous few months arguing the point that the car should not be delayed. Luckily for myself, they were able to secure a slot for the build. Currently waiting delivery in about 2 weeks.
I decided to enquire about tinting and as you might know, they managed to give it to me for a steal.
So all up,
Golf R 5Dr DSG MY12
Sat nav
Dynaudio
Leather
RVC
ACC/DCC
Full tint
It all came to a very very very reasonable amount in line with the best prices on this forum and supportive dealership to boot.
Also, currently looking at extended car warranty and have called a few dealerships. Let it be known that even though they are sold by a VW dealership and underwritten by Allianz, not all of them are the official VW new car extended warranty. I had a quote for under $1300 from a VW dealership which was underwritten by Allianz for a new car warranty however on reading the brochure, it turned out not to be the VW confidence plus extended warranty. Still reading the fine print to decide what the differences are. Any experiences with regards to these "non-VW" VW warranty would be appreciated.
Moral of the story, if you're not getting what you want or don't feel appreciated by the dealer, there are plenty to choose from which are nice. Plus I cannot recommend my salesperson Jeremy or the team at Hawthorn Volkswagen in Adelaide enough. I know there are good salespeople in every dealership, it's just nice sometimes that you get one of those.

My dealer hasn't given me a firm delivery date. Sends me NADCOM screenshots now and then. I know it is off the boat (tortugas) and sitting in melbourne docks since Monday. Just getting the compliance and pre-delivery checklist. Said he would put a priority on it and aiming to get it within first half of next month. I had my VIN number ages ago back in Sept/Oct via a VW automated email when the car was being built.
I know this is the wrong forum but you planning on getting extended warranty?

extended warranty
purchase price protection
tyre/wheel protection
paint protection
interior protection
window tint
black hole protection (jk)
i said no to everything cos they're really high margin items with the added pressure that i had to buy them !!RIGHT NOW!! if i wanted a "special price". the car is more than good enough as it is, thank you very much. if you need additional insurance later on (and most people don't) just sort something out with your insurer.Current: MY18 Golf R 7.5 DSG - FOR SALE
