I know its not the best price but i think it is probably as good as I could get with a previously signed contract for a different car.. didnt get any other options as I am already out of my price range! but we are happy with our choice!
Hi Ryan41, did you pick up your car on Wednesday late afternoon? about 4.30 ish?

I was there and I saw exactly the same Candy White R with sunroof and 19" Talledagas. It's stunning cool.

I got kicked out by the sales lady because I thought it was a show car. Eventually she just locked the car once i hopped out from the car. lol

      • Pricing and Waiting times

        Hi All.

Been sifting through the endless pages here, and have found it very informative. I am doing my research on purchasing a Golf R.

I have found the spreadsheet very informative, but it does not have the MY12 options? (I believe Nav/MDI/BT) are one
        option now rather than 3?)

What dealers have been 'carving' them up the most? I am from Sydney metro, and would like to buy fairly local if I could. Realistically, if I ordered NOW, when could I expect the car? I have been quoted beginning of Jan by one dealer, and 5-10 months by others.

...I just don't want to get stuffed around here, or at least know what to expect.

        • Hey mate.

MDI and BT are now standard. Sat Nav is still a separate option. I need to update the spreadsheet at some point... but work and real life and all...
I personally don't think it matters which dealership you buy from, even if it's from Canberra etc. Just go with who gives the best deal. If you're getting a factory build (to your options), the wait will be the same no matter which dealer, so don't fall for any promises that one dealer will have it a few months before another.

As for the wait... it could be up to 9 to 12 months at this point.

          • Thanks Corey.

I suspected that receiving a car by Early Jan sounded a little too good to be true. The car would have to be built, and on a ship within the next 3 weeks for that to happen.

The same dealer was also quoting Scirocco R delivery by 3rd week Dec / 1st week Jan.

Fortunately not.. Was pretty happy with the deal I managed to negotiate with Denlo (Parramatta).

I started out looking for a 3 door DSG but ended up settling on the 5 door manual based on availability (and price). Not to say I couldnt find a 3 door DSG, but considering they were MY11 and none of the dealers seemed slightly interested in doing a deal I decided to go with the MY12.

Its a 6MT with only RVC. Opted to get a povo R than a fully optioned GTI
I am getting it leased for a year and then buying it out, which works well for my situation. It will be approx $50,500 driveaway.

I'm sure we could come to some sort of arrangement!

But on a serious note - I would highly recommend anyone looking at a new Golf (or any VW for that matter) to go and see the guys at Denlo. This is the 2nd VW I have bought from them and have been incredibly impressed on both occasions - both in terms of service and pricing.
