As the resident bean counter, I'd say work to about 10-12% off the RRP (as corporate plus gives you a blanket 10% off).

Not sure of the RRP for that particular one, although discount it more if it has been on test drives

Actually my requirements are more modest. I really just want ACC DSG.

Use my spreadsheet from the first post. Use the links in the spreadsheet to ensure that YOUR registration costs (including the plates of your choice, your insurance, etc) are accurate, as well as putting in your dealers "dealer delivery" fee if it's different to what the spreadsheet has. We're talking the "RRP onroad price" (or RRP drive away). There's no point discussing any other price because it's not relevant. So when people (who know what they're talking about) say they got a 10% discount, they mean from what their non-discounted (i.e. RRP) drive away price would have been.

Based on that, I estimated (and QLD has not very much variation from person to person unlike other states) that given standard plates and dealer delviery, $60k flat would be 9.05% discount (as per my previous post). If this car hasn't been discounted, and it's in stock, and it's got the options you want... then get it done already!!!!

Pretty sure there are a few stock std cars around - provided you ask the dealer. I would think that a lot of them become demos shortly after arriving at the dealership - so get in QUICK!!!

FYI - I was down at James Frizelle's last weekend and there was a dude who was looking at trading in his BMW 135i coupe for a Golf R. I said, great choice!

VW moved away from a percentage discount some time ago for their various levels of their Corporate Fleet "rewards"

Fixed amount based on vehicle and elegiblity to a particular level plus discounts in DD charges

My Golf R? CW, DSG, 5 door, DCC, 18s, arrived on shore in Jan/Feb, 4000km on the clock, no track time, never been launched.

Circumstances changed during the wait time, so my VIC-plated baby now spends a lot of time garaged in NSW. I'll be swapping her for a Polo or something more city-friendly soon. I'd rather she find a home with an enthusiast who wants to save a few bucks, so I've dropped this note here a few days before she goes up on carsales. You know what she looks like - like the day I got her.

Corey, is it worth updating the pricing calculator so that it no longer includes MDI and Blu tooth as that is a standard on MY12 onwards..

Is it ridiculous to ask for a 13% discount? Base on the calculator, the drive away price is $74523.20, I was hopeing to get it down to 65K.

I cancelled my order on the gti as it was delayed again and decided to purchase an R.. obviously I didnt have as great of bargaining power as they had a contract for the gti.. however I managed to get $51,900 for a my12 candy white R in manual with black 19inch talledagas.. I know its not the best price but i think it is probably as good as I could get with a previously signed contract for a different car.. didnt get any other options as I am already out of my price range! but we are happy with our choice!
