But on a serious note - I would highly recommend anyone looking at a new Golf (or any VW for that matter) to go and see the guys at Denlo. This is the 2nd VW I have bought from them and have been incredibly impressed on both occasions - both in terms of service and pricing.

I would highly recommend you never use Denlo, for buying cars or servicing them.

I'm glad you had a good experience but there are many who have not - the forums are littered with them.

I had the same experience with Barloworld on both occasions.. It's beyond me that they have managed to stay in business

Sounds like I was one of the lucky ones.. As for servicing I would never take my car to a dealer for servicing anyway!

You are absolutely correct and I didn't intend to lump all dealers in to that category with my last post. For me personally I've always found better value and service outside of the dealer service centers but would love to hear some recommendations for trustworthy service dealers in Sydney.

FYI, there are threads in the index for recommendations of salesmen etc
That's usually more important than the actual dealership themselves, as if we excluded every dealership that someone whinged about, there'd be none left.

Car was awesome. Averaged 7.6 on the way and car only has 800km on it

It is indeed.. the seats are good on your back as well.. didja get a chance to exploit the Xenons I found they are great fro country driving, not so much around the city

Not a great fan of Xenons, especially in wet weather.

Seats appear to have less give than our MKV, not quite as comfortable but still good

Brakes not as good as I was expecting based on specs. They are good but no better than those on our GTI.

Very good steering weight. Sits well on the road with almost no tramlining. Wheel alignment I had done was worth it

Media-in got confused a few times requiring a reinsert of the MDI cable. Really needs a text search option for artists and tracks. Scrolling is far too slow. I may install my clicon mount for the iPhone as it is faster using the phone search. Pity voice control doesn't work but moving the phone to the mount will resolve that.

Road noise not bad but the Contis are noisy on the highway coarse chip surface.

New tint is perfect. Glad we went with the level suggested. No issue with reversing at night (the OEM LED on the rear rego helps)

Still feels very tight in the engine. I am still staying at 2/3rds of the rev range

Cruise control is much improved on our GTI. Very accurate, simple to use and intuitive.

Don't like the seat heater controls. The rotary controls on our GTI were better

The climate control seems to have problems detecting the correct temp. Will talk to dealer about it. Appears to be registering a warmer temp in the cabin than it really is.

I miss the center armrest storage compartment. The MDI takes up a lot of space !

You don't have to scroll. You can "Page down" using by pressing in the "scroll bar" area on the right. You even grab the "page position" on the scroll bar and drag that. Not sure how a search could be faster than that. I've got 64GB of music on my MDI and have no issues there... I could see it being cumbersome if you hadn't been aware of those points though.
