What were the factory and after settings?

Alignment was done at pre delivery but it was pulling very slightly left so I got them to do it again, to VW specs

With VW, I plan an alignment regularly but will use VW specs

I didn't take note of settings but rears were out a few mm

Bought a White R 5 Door in May (Delivery Nov) for $62K with the following options, did I get good price???

wow i got pwnd! guess i paid the price for 1-week delivery compared to your spec I am:

+ rising blue
+ ACC
+ 1 week delivery

- white
- leather + elec seats
- dynaudio
- satnav
- sunroof

and i paid only $2k less than you! that said i got $5k more than i expected on the trade-in since they could sell it now rather than sell it 7 months down the track. still, i paid quite the premium for fast delivery...

Finally the time has come for me to order my R
I am looking at ordering a CW 5 door DSG with black talladegas, Vienna pack and RNS510. At first I was thinking like a tight ass and considered buying a sat nav aftermarket and fitting it myself but if the price is right I shouldnt have to worry.

Spoke to someone at Burwin VW that some of the boys put me onto and he said he can do roughly around $57k for those options (hinting that he can do better) which was around $62 RRP. I am going to push for a bit more... is that reasonable? from what I have read I should be right squeezing a bit more out of him?

19" Black = 1,300.00
Vienna = 3,300.00
RNS510 = 2,500.00
So the car only is $59,590.00

Standard Dealer Deliver is 2995.00
LCT on all that is 1,535.70
Stamp duty for VIC on that is 3,210.00

Rego for the 3000 post code (inc Transport Accident Charge and Insurance Duty) is 641.50
and standard VIC plates are 31.20

For a "RRP Drive Away Price" of $68,003.41
So if you've been offered $57k drive away, then that's already a saving of $11,003.41 or 16.18%

As I said, I might be missing something, cause I'm pretty tired and foggy from work... but yeah

Sorry mate I forgot the original quote was without sat nav and yes I know it is already a great deal as it is without the bs dealer delivery charge for example and I will be doing it on a novated lease also. I am being a tight ass trying to squeeze a little more but thought it was worth a shot. If I can get the sat nav thrown in for the same price of $57k Im wrapped!

Yep, you did awesome. I paid $65k, no DSG, no Leather but ordered with ACC. In fact, feeling a bit ripped now… I thought I was doing good getting him down from original asking price of $67.5k...

I calculate $64593.40 for that. So as I said, maybe I'm missing something... when you put your exact onroads into the spreasheet, it calculates within a few cents, and that error is purely about whether you're calculating on the rounded figures or the actuals. So I've really no idea how there could be so much discrepency between what your dealer is saying and what the prices VGA publish, and what VICROADS and the Federal Government say their costs and taxes are...

Don't worry I did even worse! Compared to you, got DSG but no dynaudio/satnav/sunroof and paid $60k! Happy to pay a premium for 11-day delivery though... and today is day #10. Wonder if I'll sleep tonight

That's offensive. It only trivialises a word that can only mean sexual assault. When people use the word rape in new contexts they still rely on the original meaning of the word - its connotations of brutality and subjection. You need to be aware of the hurt that casual use of the term can inflict.
