Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Sometimes when it's 1am, and I can't sleep even though I need to get up for work at 7am, I just get dressed again and go for a drive in my R... seriously, it's that good guys! You'll quickly forget the wait once it's arrived.

I realise comments about how the pain of the wait will be forgotten post delivery are in good and positive spirit but it is a fact you are no longer waiting..
Does my head in.. makes me want to ring the dealer and wring any remnants of information which in 4 months they fail to have about when my unit might arrive, knowing that I will be told 3 things 1) not the original date they indicated on the contract 2) 2 months later than they told me last time and 3) they have no idea
I figure if I shut down all stimulation it may ease the frustrationCurrent Ride: MY 16 Daytona Pearl Grey Audi S3- Performance Pack 1, Sunroof and Driver assist

Have almost finalised an order on a new Golf GTI (DSG). Keen on your thoughts on whether im getting the best possible offer as im a first time VW buyer
5dr
Carbon Steel
18" Detroit
MDI
Sat Nav w BT
Leather
Sunroof
M1 Tint
$52600
Quoted $1200 for Park assist inc camera, etc or $700 for rev sensors
Have been told by a few people that it's a good deal - what is depreciation like?
Qns - is leather heated? Electric standard or optional?
Thanks for your advice and thoughts!

Mate the price is fantastic... over 10%.
Park Assist is $1400 and camera is $500, so $1900 option for only $1200 is great. It's a factory option though. $700 for Rev sensors is standard... although if that includes the dealer installation, I guess that's fine.
Leather includes heated seats and electric lumbar support. Electric seat adjustments for the drive side is $600 - but doesn't include memory (it does include 8 way adjusting instead of 6 way though, if that's important to you).

Delivery whenever im ready tp pick it up!!
I assume that would mean no electric seating adjustment would need to be factory so not available to me unless i want delivery in August by the sounds of it.
Price includes corporate discount and under Novate no GST is payable so i guess im laughing by the sound of it?!
I should probably check on the camera/sensor price - maybe i have the park assist thing mixed up, the sales person wasnt THAT generous but sounds like he looked after me!

I ordered my car on 7 Sept and took delivery on 5 Jan this year. All up 3 months wait but like a lot of the people here, the car is so worth the wait. Very happy with the purchase (but then again, I'm coming from a 07 Honda Civic so it's a massive 'upgrade' lol)MY11 VW Golf GTI Carbon Steel Gray | DSG | 18" Detroits | Leather | Sunroof | Bluetooth | MDI | Tint | Mud flaps | R LED rear tail lights

Hello all,
With less than 24 Hours until I take delivery of my first Golf, I would like to extend thanks for keeping me occupied over the last 3 months.
Pick the car up from VW Camberwell at 1.30pm tomorrow. Slightly excited.
I have a question to pose though. I ordered a GTI Adidas and I was wondering if it will come with the LED lights along with the Bi-Xenons? The invoice states a Nov 11 build.

Let us know by posting up a whole bunch of photos once you've taken delivery! I'm not sure anyone has posted photos of their Adidas yet!
Congrats, and welcome to the forums.

Woot, my car has finished being built and has so far traveled from Germany and is currently sitting in England - ETA for the Boat into Brisbane is 14/03/2011, so then I guess I need to wait a couple of weeks to get through customs and to the dealer etc...
Love how we can track the boat so we know where it is at... Lets hope those nasty floods and cyclones stay away dammit! Now Driving : Rising Blue Golf R - 5 Door ; Manual ; ACC ; 19" Talladega Wheels (silver) ; PPQ Euro Plates.
