The official I have ordered/received my new MKVI thread
Yeah... that's why then.
Considering when you posted to say that you've ordered, those spec changes would have bumped you from your position...
According to my trusty dealer the changes did not bump it from the position. However, it is now looking better for 2010 delivery.
They really have no idea at the moment.

Well, I wouldn't want to contradict a dealer, but it goes against what we've been told directly by multiple other dealers on this forum.
The thing is, sales people can sometimes "gloss over details" when in their rush to secure a deal. But I assume you already realise that by using the term "my trusty dealer"

When I enquired with my dealer if I could include another option and this was back in July I was told that any changes I made would delay the car and that it had been locked in for a build date, safe to say I wasn't willing to risk another 2-6 month delay on top of the existing 6 month wait for the car so elected not to chance it.
just recieved an email with NADCON screen shot showing commission number, order details and vehicle specification....
Status of the vehicle is IN PRODUCTION as we speak....vin number soon. Week 38 build order placed end of July..

So what is the average time for delivery for those waiting on their Golf R?
I'm a build week 38 person and I was told that I have to wait now until late December/January.... anyone else encountered this?
If you are build week 38, December delivery is about right, as that is what the majority of us have been told although some people are now being told early 2011. Ask your dealer for a 'Tracking Report'

Wk 38 is this week so they should be able to provide more info. At the very least by next week the VIN etc.
