I think its because it was a pretty basic build - I bought it as a run about that I can take to the track on weekends, so I went without all the flash bits most are ordering on theirs.

It was, just that they had one already built to the specs i wanted

Well yeah, I'd figured that. So you requested a factory order, but then it wasn't required because they found one already built. Semantics I know. But just wanted it pointed out so that someone doesn't start complaining that their car is going to take 4 months when someone else's arrived in 1

Was so luck though cos the 1 month wait killed me, dont no how i would handle 4 months!!

Picked up my car on Wednesday. The missus conviently booked her car in for service on Thursday so i had only 12 hours with the car.

Now i have driven it a couple of times today. Great car. I am coming from a highly modified cooper S and i do have to say that the GTI does not "feel" as solid as the cooper S but a few mods will quickly fix that on e up.

Great on board computer, Will have to get used to the turbo instead of supercharger but it is a great small car family hatch back. Will keep you posted on the mods as i have a fair few planned for the GTI.
