Which is same as last time, plus a Rearview Camera.

Now the wait begins and this time I will be keeping it longer than 5 months. Meanwhile I will drive my partner's new Polo 77TSI.

May 2011? Did the dealer advise you that? I'm still waiting for mine and I havent even received a build date, they were telling me it might arrive in Feb/March.

I think they are all in the dark, I started getting all these wild delivery dates when enquiring. I am not getting worried about it , the system will deal with the order processing and the dealers will just try and manage expectations the best they can. As mine said "we want to see your bum in a car and we get paid ASAP .. simple.." If I never believe anything again I believe that.

Dealer quoted 5 months - so allowing for their normal delays, christmas period as well I don't expect to see it until late May at earliest. Last year ordered a Golf GTI on 2 Jan 2010 and delivered 5 June 2010. Taking that into account May seems reasonable. Of course will know more once I have vin number and can track it.

+1. I do believe in the dealer's interest to deliver and get paid in full as soon. But as you said they are all in the dark because "stock control" is all xxxx up. While it is good that you are not getting worried about, it is causing a lot of angst for others.

I have a delivery contract date of March 1st last word was Late May ( before that it was September 2011 ). Maybe I just have patience, it will be what it will be, fretting and yelling at reps doesnt change it.. I wanted the week I placed an order and 8-9 months wait is a right PITA but what do you do.

it'll take a while to get your build date since you ordered in november i might think.

i ordered in september and finally got a confirmed build date for this month, about 3 months wait there :\ was originally slated for a build date in january, but somewhat miraculoulsy got pushed forward

Yeah it took me about 3 months to receive a build date too. Most of the time is spent waiting in queue to get a production slot.

Thereafter it only takes approx 2 weeks for the car to be built. Loaded onto the ship within the next couple of weeks.
