Mk6 LED Taillights

Hi All,

EDIT: Don't mind me, i checked the first 20 pages and got impatient...answer found on page 75

I got some of these a while ago through Osram's contact and put them on my 2011 Golf 77TSI which I traded in yesterday. I still have the lights and want to stick them on my 2011 Golf GTI but have forgotten the coding. Can anyone confirm if it is byte 18 changed to 15? For some reason that is sticking in my head.

There's a few threads like this where the first post info is outdated and the crucial info is buried half way through the 100+ page thread. I'm also thinking of the Bluetooth thread in the Audio forum. Is this something the mods could help out with when convenient?

came across these LED R style smoked lights at a decent price, they seem quite unique and look better compared to what else is on the market

has anyone purchased and fitted these? dunno if they are legal here or any programming required?????

Can't say I like them at all myself; certainly don't look OEM.

oh god they're horrible...it says plug and play, so my guess is they just go straight into the stock harness.

For the record I can confirm that the correct coding for the Genuine LED Tails is to change Cent. Elec. byte 18 to '15'.

As has been discussed previously, this is not the same for everyone - it depends on Central Electrics module revisions and lighting options fitted. See this post for more detailed info.

i got in touch with the supplier and they guarantee that these are for UK, AUS, NZ right hand drive vehicles, rear fog bulb on driver side, reverse bulb on passenger side, everything else is LED, built in resistors, plug and play wiring, no coding required or error messages on display. ive ordered mine so will let you know how i go with these, everyone else seems to be going for the same old designs, want something different and hopefully they wont look ugly on the car! LOL

Good, they make the GTI look less like a family car (which it isn't) so I guess it's in keeping with your first statement.

Cheers mate. It actually is linked, in a fairly roundabout way. The original first post of this thread has been edited and has a link to that post; confusingly this thread was then merged with another at one point, and so there are a few other posts that now precede it. But Corey's added a link to the old 'first post' in the new 'first post'. And now I've just confused myself... :-p
