My car has module 0575 and It had all the symptoms listed by AdamD. ie. the bright parking lights, no DRLs etc. When I manually put the 00010101 in lCode 2 as I said, the value in the byte 18 'box' changed to 15. I didn't have the option of '15' in the drop down box.

Adam/Tux, thanks. Just to update - have had the coding updated with kind assistance from Peter from volkswerks. So to confirm, my module is 0651 and Peter had to force a 15 into byte 18 as it did not appear on drop list.

This time checked all lighting operation and all is good .

Have coded 3 vehicles using the new 15 entry. Felt a bit odd going against the grain using an Lcode2 rather than the ross-tech pull-down list.

all 651 firmware modules - worked perfectly. DRLs now back. all lighting functions are A-OK.

Also coded my MY12 GTI using Lcode2 to set byte 18 to 15. All lights working as expected. I have firmware 651.

Did have a side effect where the chimes for having the key in the ignition the drivers door open (or seatbelt not on) disappeared. Not sure if my car was coded USA from the factory. Setting the Instruments module to US brought the chimes back but I've since changed to Australia (no chimes) for now.

I was told by my dealer today that the Bi Xenons I ordered with my GTI come with LED tails - apparently similar to the R.

Has anyone else heard this?

FYI the car is being built to order and I have been told to expect it between July & Sept

Mate, when did you order your car? R u sure he said LED tails or did he say Bi-xenon with LED daytime lights?

Probably meant LED number plate lights.

Definitely tail lights. He only offered the info after i asked why GTI's don't have them as an option. Also that they were a new addition and that he will send me a pic to ease my suspicions

I'm not holding out much hope tbh, having been a long time stalker of this forum I believe I am fairly up to date with the current offerings.

If he sends me a pic i'll post it . . .

He said that they were a new addition to the Bi Xenon option. I'll ring him tomorrow to get some hard evidence - keep you posted.

i got in touch with the supplier and they guarantee that these are for UK, AUS, NZ right hand drive vehicles, rear fog bulb on driver side, reverse bulb on passenger side, everything else is LED, built in resistors, plug and play wiring, no coding required or error messages on display. ive ordered mine so will let you know how i go with these, everyone else seems to be going for the same old designs, want something different and hopefully they wont look ugly on the car! LOL

I have recently installed these and can confirm:
MEET AUSTRALIAN SPEC - REAR FOG ON DRIVER, REVERSE ON PASS SIDE
PLUG AND PLAY AND SOOOO... EASY TO INSTALL
NO ABSOLUTELY NO CODING OR BULB OUT ERROR MESSAGES
QUALITY IS AMAZING AND FIT IS GREAT
THEY ALSO MAINTAIN THE FACTORY COMING HOME FEATURE!!!
I FEEL LIKE MY CAR SHOULD BE ON DISPLAY AT SEMA AUTO SHOW!

A big thank you to Ozram for helping me to purchase the genuine LED tails from his German contact. They arrived today and look perfect, arrived meticulously packed and in the genuine VW boxes...all I need now is my GTD to fit them to...ETA April

I'm waiting for my delivery from Germany too, many thanks to Ozram!! Both Ozram and the contact are sooo friendly & efficient.

Will install them once I get back from holidays,..
