tried the link at the start of the thread to track my vehicle & no Luck. I've got all the details on my order from the dealer (they sent me screen shots).
Does the link to track work for Golf Wagons coming from Mexico?
Thanks

Sometimes it takes a few days before your vehicle appears in the system - has it left port already?
hard for me to say for sure, I'm guessing so as its supposed to be landing in our hands late Aug. And 2 weeks ago the screenshot from the VW Nadcon system indicated it was in Acupolco "released for shipment" with the next waypoint listed as Toyohashi port in Japan, and teh ship name of Western highway.
Not long to go now for those with a vehicle on the TORRENS! It is the next vessel to arrive in the country...arrives in Fremantle tomorrow morning & Melbourne on Friday

I know its exciting isnt it! If only there was a way to instantly teleport the car from the dock in Melbourne to Canberra that ignored Customs while detailing and installing the dealer fit accessories for me
Ordered: MY11 118TSi Manual | Sports Pack | Dynaudio | Reverse Camera
Due: Late August :-)
mine GTI is on the Torino - due in Fremantle on the 4th of August... i lose it on the GPS every now and then, and then i get it back again (different sites have different gps updates) which is frustrating...
waiting is soooooooooooooooooooo painful
im even thinking of going down to the docks at 8am on the 4th to see it come in - is that bad?

Yep it appears the original info was all correct, and I've had an update from VW telling me it is on a different ship now (they change over in Yokahama I think) - Brasilia Highway & pulling into Townsville this morning. With ship name I was able to get planned route from KLine the shipping company they come in on:
i just looked for my car at the track and trace website (WW) (as part of my daily ritual) and it has the latest update for my car of "liner release" at 28th July 2010, 16:19pm..... does this mean what i think it means???? its due 4th of august so i cant see how it would be 7 days early (not that im complaining!!)
When you say "its due 4th of august" - do you mean that's when you believe you're due to take delivery of that car? If so, that's never going to happen. "liner release" may mean that the car is now off the boat - but it then needs to go through customs, hopefully not quarantine, compliance, transport, and then dealer delivery processes. If there are no delays, this is usually a 3 week process.....
When I checked the status of mine last night it also says "Status: Liner Release 23-07-2010 12:35:39", however the ship isn't due in Melbourne until July 31. The ship definitely hasn't docked in Melbourne as yet, so I'm not really sure what "Liner Release" is referring to...
same situation diop, mines due in fremantle 4th of august, ie the ship is due to dock 4th of august... 7 days early is a tad too early, that means it would have had to travel from south africa over 50km per hour non stop to get here in that time.... i dont think those big liners can go that fast...?

This may help from the "Glossary of International Shipping Terms"
Line Release System - The Line Release System, a part of Customs' Automated Commercial System, is designed for the release and tracking of shipments through the use of personal computers and bar code technology. To qualify for line release, a commodity must have a history of invoice accuracy, and be selected by local Customs districts on the basis of high volume. To release the merchandise, Customs reads the bar code into a personal computer, verifies that the bar code matches the invoice data, and enters the quantity. The cargo release is transmitted to the Automated Commercial System, which establishes an entry and the requirement for an entry summary, and provides the Automated Broker Interface system participants with release information.
Not quite sure what that all means but it may be something that helps the flow of paperwork through Customs
You know you are getting old when you cancel your order for a 3.6 CC and buy an Icelandic Gray TDI CC instead.
btw ive checked the fremantle port shipping records and the Torino has not arrived yet... so not to sure what "linar release" means but when and if i find out ill be sure to post back here
