Ordered 3rd August 2010 - Pickup 21st January 2010 - 3 weeks late, but that was due to the monster flooding down in Brissy where the ship docked and that cann't be helped

Hi stucam, congrats on the soon-to-arrive GTI. I have gotten some news on mine. Build week 4 so it is this week. Dealer also let me know the VIN on Fri. So April ETA is looking promising. Fingers crossed. I should be able to check on ship/vessel shortly.

Personally, I could not pass up on the Bi-xenon, especially when it looks great like this photo from thirdwill. I could pass on leather, sunroof, etc...

Golf finally turned up on the tracking site this morning aboard the 'Tirranna' which is due to dock in Port Kembla on 8th March. According to the latest nadcon screen print I received it arrived at the port of shipment on 21st December. Seems a little strange that it took almost a month to get it on a ship... but who cares... its finally headed my way

Once I got my VIn number, I paid for the 1 hour access on Erwin to check if everything was made as planned and it looks like it is.

Im a bit miffed with this tracking biz. Mines on Otello too going to Port Kembla (Sydney)

Nadcon from 09/01 said it docks said 03/02
Two days later it was bumped back to 05/02
Last week it went to 07/08
And have just checked now and its 08/02

... are these changing dates normal? Ya, I know its only 5 days but I want my new GTI dammit!!

Wow! I was told this shortage of parts a couple of days ago, is the reason for all kind of delays - R, Polo, etc... I took it with a big grain of salt and didn't think it was legit.

Now, I am just relieved and glad that my order made it through and is on the ship already.

I can't believe this, first my dealer refuses to give me the NADCOM screen capture. Now I rang him up to see if he can give me the VIN so that I can track it on the ship, again the dealer tells me thats not possible and that he will only be able to give that to me once it's off the ship! I totally understand that he doesn't have to give it to me as I don't own the vehicle yet but this really ruins the customers experience!!

I would love to recommend people to NOT purchase from the dealer I got my car from, if you're interested to know, PM me I'll give the dealers name.

Hi aVex, your salesguy is not customer friendly, is he? I suggest, go down to the dealership in person, grab any salesman and ask them to show you the ETA screen for your order. If built, the other screens would also show VIN.

Okay, I took your advice. I went to the dealership today and the sales guy apologised. The stock controller manager also said that the sales person should have kept me up to date.

I got all the details I needed, it's on the Morning Conductor, now ETA 06/03/2011 and I should receive it by the end of March.
