      1. What tool do you use to undo the bolts to take them apart?

      2. Do I need to take the tyres off before I do this?

      3. They are 16x8, Will 195/45/16 or 195/50/16 tyres will give me a bit of stretch right? But which will be closest to VR6 total wheel diameter?

      Cheers
      1) 8 and 10mm 12 point sockets from memory - google to confirm.

      2) definitely need tyres off and prepare to battle silicone

      3) 40 or 45 (closer to stock) profiles for 16s on a mk3. don't stretch more than you need to (will depend on offset)

I think that answers your questions but I would recommend you do a lot more homework on all of this.

      • Hey Guys.

My tachometer for both the rpm/speedometer gauges has stopped working completely. Fuel/temp/lights on dash still work though.

Anyone else have a similar problem and if so, do you know how to fix it?

                What feenix said.
If either the speedo or tacho vibrate when ignition on, the chip in the cluster is rooted. Either replace with a different cluster ad I just did or have your chip repaired

Was out in the wife's black cabrio today.
Just before I reached my destination an issue arose.
Whilst decelerating in 3rd a horrible sound came from the passenger side of the engine bay. Sounded like clutch throw out bearing but if I gave the car some light throttle, the sound goes away.

                  Any ideas?

                              • Can you run it til the rego runs out then store it somewhere? Your VR6 is 21 years old. In another 5-10 years I predict the values will climb.
