Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

The bay is soo neat/tidy, even with A/C and PS crammed in there.
All the wire's seem to just 'disappear', aswell as an invisible speedo cable (trick of the camera?)Last edited by ryana89; 04-03-2011, 07:21 PM.MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*

Good things come in two's?
Steering rack boot's and outer right CV boot is being replaced tommorrow.
Also had the (crap) front tyre's repalced with some Bridgestone Potenza's, with a noticable improvement in driveability.
Hopefully recieving some pads from GSL in the the mail soon, aswell as a new speedo cable from Loon.
Not the most interesting update, but more interesting than some of the question's asked in the MK5/6 area.

They'll be going on along with fresh wheel bearings (kits) and pads
I dare say it might just be the most northerly MK2, 'boganism' is too prominent further north to allow people to drive Euro'sMK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*

Replaced the old speedo cable today with a new one (from Loon), what a PITA of a job!
But now I don't have a bouncy speedo needle
The old calble looks like a bit of a bodge job (it did work though)
Broken CV boot and rack boot's are now all replaced too.Last edited by ryana89; 20-03-2011, 12:49 PM.MK2 - *Insert list of dealer purchased extra's/standard features here*

Recieved a present from Europe today, a new (used) intrument cluster
Was pretty much plug and play, I now have a working MFA AND all the idiot lights work too!!! (even the oil warning buzzer)
Also ran some relays on the inner high beam lights too.....BIG differance at night.
