A mate of mines dad had a deposit on an Aus delivered Scirocco R with a NSW dealer.
QUOTED price to him was $49000 + onroads + options.
Remember guys, the Scirocco R is supposed to replace the 3 door Golf R so there's no way in standard form it will cost more than a 5 door golf R. My mates dad was saying there is an options list a mile long for the Scirocco so they definately aren't importing fully optioned models only.

One thing that seems to be skipped over through this thread is the term 'GREY', all cars not imported by the manufacturer are grey imports, as a trade, valuers will be aware of the release date, see an earlier compliance, and then drop 10k as a trade, no, the VGA cars will not be $68k and no there is no long option list(i have the brochure) there are really only 3 options, I will post this afternoon after work to let you know what they are, but expect pricing between GTi 5dr and Golf R 5dr

Options are (not a long list) Sun roof, Dynaudio and sat nav.

VW Australia is under no obligation to honour an "international" factory warranty.... The only warranty by law that is enforceable in Australia is the one issued by VW Australia.

Good luck in having anything on your "grey" Scirrocco fixed by VW ....

Anyway... in NSW for the "average driver", and no options, this means the drive away price is:
$52,984 manual
$55,609 DSG

(calculated on $2,995 dealer delivery, private rego, privately owned, no finance, a 40 y/o driver with no offenses and max no claim, sydney 2000 post code, standard $92 black on white slim-line plates)

Even with all the options, and Euro plates:
$58,962 fully-optioned manual (No LCT btw)
$61,877 fully-optioned DSG ($275.70 of LCT)

Now, we will see how much the grey importer will have to lower their price to offload their stock.

Yep.. that is the plan for later on today.

I was keen and if the planets had aligned with regards the Pay-out on my current car (and being able to sell it) then I would be driving a Scuderia Imports Scirocco R.

The VWA models are a little way off yet and that suits my current situation... If you go back and have a look at the Scirocco thread in the Mk6 threads and also in this thread I was happy to wait for the "Official" ones.

I will also now have a lot of satisfaction going in to see at least one certain VWA Dealer Principle who told me they would be $80K.. and no.. I won't be placing my order with him...
