Why... because they can... it is pretty simple really. If that isn't what you would do, that is your choice... just as it would have been my choice if I had purchased one from Scuderia Imports...

The Scirocco isn't "specifically" produced for Australia, VWA specify the slightly reduced power of 188kw (the same as for Golf R) but other than that... the NZ vehicles are identical.

I was told by Scuderia Imports that the Warranty was fully supported by VWA but again... it is individuals choices as to those things being factors on "their" buying decision. Regardless of what you think... those that did purchase these cars (and they are fully compliant) have made that decision in full knowledge of what VWA were doing....

As for spare parts... what is going to be different?????? It will be no different for one of the Scuderia vehicles than it would be for a VWA vehicle.

Having said all of that.... I placed an order this afternoon for a Candy White Scirocco R with Sunroof, Dynaudio and SatNav...

Now the waiting begins...

They are definitely great prices, I spoke to my contact in VWA and they said they are only getting 20 cars at first and then you will have to wait for 12 months.
Anyway I'm super excited because I already have mine and I'm going to start pulling it apart to install the 750hp Twin Turbo R36 engine and awd conversion.
I hope they don't void my warranty.. Hehehe

My partner ordered a candy white DSG with sunroof and sat nav yesterday! ETA February 2012.

Dealer told us that they are getting demos in December and more stock in Jan/Feb. Ours is one of the stock orders they placed a few weeks ago. And with the money we are saving (for not buying a NZ car), we will go on a nice holiday in January and make the waiting time a bit sweeter. At least that is what we are telling us - we planned to wait for the VWA release anyway. Just an excuse to go on a trip.

Nice one... with an ETA of Feb that would be a build week 45 or so. I saw on their system the ones due in December (Demo's) are week 42 and the later ones (later Feb / March) are week 49 builds.

Yes.. the only interior option is the Standard R Cloth seats... The E-brochure is available at VWA and it shows all the specs etc there.

I think if you pester hard enough, you might be able get them to order you leather seats as well. A dealer was able to order in Red Golf Rs earlier this year.
