I now have advice from my Dealer that my Rocco is built and waiting at the docks in Portugal for a ship.
ETA into Australia is 16/1/2012...
As for them being too "Boy Racer"... I guess it is each to his own... It is a Sports Coupe.. so it is hardly going to be inconspicuous...
As for test driving a Gold R first... why?? At least until you can test drive a Scirocco R as well it is pointless..
I am more than happy with my decision...
Candy White Scirocco R DSG with Panoramic Sunroof and RNS510 Sat Nav, tint Cup Rear Spoiler, VMR V718 GM rims, APR Tuned, Brembo 6 pot BBK, Eibach Pro-Kit springs, Low line RVC, Exhaust flap delete
That will be a real bummer if you know it is in the country yet VWA wont release it until the "Official Release" in January sometime....
Have you been able to track it using your VIN?

I'm wondering if our scirocco will be shipped from port BREMERHAVEN ? or somewhere else ?
Seeing as they are manufactured in Portugal I am pretty sure they come out of Setubal... I wonder if they go the long way around the Cape or via the Suez Canal?
I am not able to track mine yet as it is scheduled to leave port on the 10th November.

me 2... Week 42 and still unable to track it..
When i try to see the all the scheduled by port on portugal Setubal, I'm getting one of this error:
The sailing schedule and ports of call are subject to change without notice.
No records found.
For more information contact your local Wallenius Wilhelmsen Customer Service Representative.
I'm using the "http://schedule.2wglobal.com/AppTracking/cargoTrack.do". Is this the correct logistics ?

When you have a good look at their routes they don't show anything coming from Portugal. Having a close look at the pictures VWA put up of the first batch arriving on our shores shows it to be a Wallenius Wilhelmsen ship out of Southampton... and that is certainly on their route.
I would guess they are sent to Southampton and then go onto a ship to bring them to Australia.. just a guess but it appears to line up with the info I have from my Dealer.
My info says ships from Port of Shipment 10/11/11 and departure last port of transit 2/12/11 which matches a ship on the WW line called TAIKO which leaves Southampton on the 2nd Dec and arrives Port Kembla on 13th Jan 12.

Unfortunately the schedule don't match with my ETA given by my dealer:
