A composite camera without a converter will give a superior image.

Checked adv measuring blocks, and you are correct, unit is receiving can signal. I have ordered Tiguan/b7 mib reverse camera. Converter must be faulty

You can throw a 7N0 gateway in there, but the 3c0 gateway sends the reverse CAN message on the infotainment bus already.

You think 3c0 gateway has nothing to do with it? I’m going to upgrade to 7n0 and 3aa ccm now anyway

Try another converter or try another composite video source connected to the discover

tried both +ve wires to perm live. As far as I could see, if the camera was unplugged it would just come up with an error saying camera not available if it didn’t see signal from the camera

    How is the converter wired?
If it has a reverse trigger wire connect this to 12v as well as the 12v wire. This will constantly power the rgbs to cvbs converter.
The discover unit doesn't like any delay in seeing a video signal once reverse is selected.
I had a traditional relay connected in my wife's car to a camera and it didn't work because it was too slow. I used a digital delay relay and now it works fine.

Oem camera as previously used with rns510. Adaptor from Ali express for £8 as a short term solution to get some sort of camera working. I believe that the discover media takes reverse signal from the canbus to know to switch the camera on, but when reverse is selected nothing changes

What sort of camera and how is it wired and powered?

I see you are a gem at modifying VW audio. I have the same head unit as you do in my 2016 scirocco. I am wondering how hard is it to retrofit Dynaudio to it?

    Thanks Shane
How hard is matter of perspective...
Speakers need to be drilled out then a new wiring harness installed to the dynaudio amp connected to the newly installed speakers.

Yes you'll need to get a 1K8 PDC module if you want to get the OPS overlay on the screen at the same time as the reverse image.

I’ve got a cheap converter to try the camera. Doesn’t need to be perfect, otherwise il get the Tiguan handle camera kit which looks to fit.

I also want to add ops now. Originally I wanted to use the steelmate aftermarket kit but looking through the thread, I need to use a kit with 1K8 module to be able to have my low line camera, and ops, is this correct? There isn’t enough information on the steelmate kit, and website doesn’t list discover media as a supported head unit
