The time comes from the instrument cluster.
The only fix for this that I am aware of is to upgrade the cluster to a new version with software 4xx or above.

Discover Media retrofit

Hi all,
I'm from France, I have a 2010 Eos 2.0 TDI 140 DSG GT Sport.
I replaced my RNS510 with a Discover Media (PQ), with Carplay unlocked.
I put a wiring adapter and changed the gateway for a 7N0 907 530 BC/AN. I also did the 5F coding with VCDS.
The only issue I have it that the clock stays at 0:00 and I don't have a submenu "date and time" in the settings of the DM2.
I'm wondering if it's a firmware issue or if the issue is somewhere else.
Would someone know how to solve the issue?
Thanks a lot,
Laurent

Adrian, what did you need to do to get this working? I'm thinking of replacing the RNS510 in the Amarok with this.

Just popping in to say another huge thanks to kamold for sorting me out with my Discover Media retrofit, it's an awesome unit!
Below is a pic of where I've mounted the USB socket, I don't have MDI so I was able to use the obsolete AUX socket location inside the console box. Just had to enlarge the hole to the size of the larger USB socket and run the wiring.

There will be multiple products in the market in the next few months I would think.
But cheap and good are often mutually exclusive.
Expect good products to work seemlessly or at worst have software updates to fix issues.
Cheap ones will be buggy and annoying.

Just wondering if anyone has found a way to get wireless CarPlay working with this retrofit? Does something like the CPLAY2air (https://carplay2air.com) product actually work? Are there any cheaper options?

Hey @Kamold I have a 2013 Scirocco, I've been reading through all of this and wondering if I was tomorrow to go and retrofit one
1. Do you have a recommendation of where to buy from?
2. What part/s do I need to make it an easier swap and ensure HUD, reverse sensors + wheel controls all work? Any conversion kits out there?
3. What recommendations to get it for unlocked / updated with maps etc
4. Is there any place in Sydney you can recommend that can do it all?

To get all the wiring diagrams you need sign up for 1 hour access on Erwin.de and you can print them off.

Discover Media retrofit
Hello Kamold, I will retrofit dynaudio sound system with discover media on my golf mk6. Do you know a resource I can use? Schema etc.

The calibration is meant to be done using the procedure.
Otherwise you need to remove the eeprom and write it manually.
In theory I guess you could write an XML file and apply it with ODIS. Would be a good exercise if you can figure it out.

Ok, then it seems there is no "smarter" way of doing this.
Regarding RVC: I did not have luck with putting parameters on the module today. I always get an error. I hope I find some way to put the correct Tiguan parameters on it. But what I can read on the WWW, there is no easy way of doing it. What about putting the parameters (XML) with ODIS on it?
Just wanted to add: thanks for your advice.

Ok, new RVC is installed. It still needs paramaters (will put on sharan or passat paremeters today for testing).
With Dynaudio I did not have luck yet - i experimented with the settings a bit, but I still do not get that same sound which I know from RNS 510.
Another thing which happens: When I edit installed modules in diagnostics (address 19), my multi function display misses the navigation part afterwards. I need to to edit it again and add address 37 (navigation) - after that my display has navigation again but when I open the installed modules list again, 37-navigation is again unticked (navigation stays in mfd though). Is there a nice way to permanently add navigation to my MFD?

Thanks for the info. I will install the new RVC package in the upcoming weeks, when I have timeI will then look at the setup/calibration (too bad there is no chance with VCP). A friend of mine has the old highline RVC indeed working with a converter on DM. But the quality is not that good - sometimes he has horizontal lines running through the picture. That is no option for me.
Tomorrow I will check the coding regarding dynaudio again and post back, maybe some adaption channel changed back after some coding.

You can directly write the eeprom with a suitable eeprom tool. You can't do it with VCP.
Yes you need an AL camera for the calibration routine to complete successfully with ODIS S.
As for the audio it sounds like something is not setup correctly. Should be on par with the RNS510
