Firmware updates for RNS510 units in Australia/NZ

actually I can use my navigator because I didn't install the 4020 VIM 90/5/5 version, I installed the normal version. But is good to know that the people with issues can use the navi with the dvd, I didn't remember this option

weird, i installed the 4020 version on my HW06 model and it went in fine.

it wouldnt accept the V5 maps which were on it previously (downloaded from links on here) its copying the V4 maps that i got with the car now. maybe the V5 maps need V4 installed first? i guess ill find out soon enough

if you are talking about Australia Map are like 600 MB, but the issue we have is the European Maps are 4.5GB big,

no, different problem

i think it had a problem reading the disc. V4 went in fine (original) then i had to turn it on again, popped in the V5 disc and it started loading

as far as i am aware of the only problem is the partition different as partitionesd

Is it worth considering splitting this thread into Aus/NZ Firmware modifications, and another for the Euro enquiries and the work Kamold et al might be doing?

Could save some confusion?

I see where you are coming from with this Steve, and may need to review it once I've added more to the guide but I envisage that it should still be concise enough even with the two.

The problem is that these sort of threads get picked up in a Google search and people go directly to them without seeing things like stickied threads at the top of a forum subsection. Hence they might still miss a Euro thread and we end up in the same situation...

He will update the first post with the files and instructions needed to revise your SWL_CD so that it will partition your drive to a 75/25/5 partition.
