RNS510 Portuguese Voice control? (Help)

Sorry for my question, I have a RNS510 1T0 035 680 C HW50 SW2840 and it works great but it has not voice control in Portuguese. Do you know if the new SW3970 or 4020 or ... has the Portuguese voice control?
Can anyone who has firmware later than the 2840 test it for me? Please choose Portuguese language and activate the voice control (star) and see what happens, in my unit appears a message that say something like this "Not active".

Problem solved. The information is that the new firmware later than 2840 (3xxx, 4xxx) has the Portuguese a Spanish voice control.

Help - Update firmware from 2840 to 4120 (or other)

Please help, I want to update my firmware from 2840 to a high version (1T0 035 680 C: Production 11/2009 – 05/2011 HW50 / SW2840 Europe). I see a lot of posts but I have not a conclusion, can I upgrade directly with "SWL 4120 for RNS510 (50-25-25 partitions)" or I must upgrade first to 3810 and after to 4120?

Think you can go direct, but have you read all the warnings for that version of firmware? You'll need a VCDS cable to recode your RNS510 if you install it. Plus you need to burn to a DVD+R since other discs have failed half way through. Otherwise you might be safer going only as far as version 4020.

Let me see if I understand. I can go directly to 4020 (better than 4120) (it makes new partition in the HDD and format them). I need a VCDS cable to recode the RNS and put 2 more digits (00) before click "do it". Reload the maps. Is it all?
For this I do to burn a DVD+R (does verbatim DVD-R works too?) for firmware and a DL for maps.
Can the firmware be the FW_4020_70_20_5.ISO?
All I want is the portuguese voice control that the 2840 hasn't.

4020 should be a simple upgrade using CD-R.

4120 is the one that needs VCDS and DVD+R.

Go under the assumption that you will lose music and maps when you upgrade to either.

Hi all, have version A RNS with 3810 FW. I am interested in getting the radio song text to appear. If this is possible which version should I be looking at?

Don't think there's anything available for you yet. There was a separate version of 4020 for version A but haven't seen one for 4120.

I would steer well clear of attempts to update on older units to 4120 or higher as the radio board is not compatible and will likely damage your unit requiring hardware to be replaced.

The gurus in Europe have advised that the Radio board from version D (I think) onwards is only suitable for such an upgrade. A & B units stand a very good chance of being bricked (some classic examples on the Euro forums of guys who have gone in boots 'n all just to have the latest Firmware, and haven't paid attention to to the guys in the know - like our good friend kamold - and now have the "white or black screen of death")

Number of C units (mine included) have upgraded ok. That said I'm not sure if having radio text enabled is reducing reception quality, noticing a tiny bit of static on some stations occasionally.

i have an A-unit, and successfully upgraded from firmware 272x to 412x with no probs.

my apologies, i got it wrong - i upgraded to "402x with no probs", not firmware 412x.
