  • Order now, add 7-8 months for delivery. We'll call it October - expect it end of April (best case) to may (typical case). But at least it will have a 2015 build plate!

Well put GTR27. A bonus is that it will be a 2015 Build Date. If waiting is no issue then order and wait and wait........... has this been said posted before before before oh broken record happening here lol

      • Just want to make sure no one is given wrong information around deliveries. Those times are much more realistic than some dealers will give.

        • One dealer told me Skoda was not expecting another boat delivery of vehicles until January. Better not be right.

Better not be right! It's not even October yet, there is over 3 months till the end of the year.....

I'm still counting on my car arriving in December. I've been spamming refresh on the tracking site, but it hasn't been loaded onto a boat yet.

              • I have spoken with Skoda customer service. Tough job for them at the moment. They are not able to firm up a delivery date other than to say I have been allocated a "com" number which is more than others in similar circumstances. A tentative week 42 build (13-19 Oct) is slated. Before then rego on the ****box I bought to cover me while new car is built will expire and I doubt it will get a pink slip without more repairs than it is worth. I have asked if customer service is in a position to provide me with a loan vehicle during the time from when rego expires until when my car arrives. This was not able to be approved by the customer service representative I spoke with but I have been told they will come back with an answer to my request. This could be a good opportunity for Skoda to enhance their image and perception. I hope they see it the same way. I won't be picky about the car, just glad to be able to continue to get around.

At least you have some movement on the car. I handed a written complaint letter, asking them to contact me to my dealer two weeks ago, who was lodging it with Skoda on my behalf. Still haven't heard anything. Their attitude of 'stiff ****' is really poor, and they only seem to do anything in extreme cases like yours.

I hope they look after you and do the right thing.

                  • It's a flat no on the loaner for two reasons. Firstly it isn't a problem of their making or control in Australia (launching and selling a car you can't supply is someone else's fault?), and secondly they cannot tell when the car will be delivered so it would essentially be open ended. I get that. I strongly suspect the precedent set would be problematic too as the volume of orders rises.

I just need to find a solution to getting around in another week or so. Off to shop alternatives in stock now.

                    • Translation: Go ahead, cancel. We can sell your car in a heartbeat. It's not like we dont have a queue of people waiting for these cars

I'm a spiteful bastard so will hold out, just so they cant sell the car to someone else. Sucks to be in your situation. I'm lucky we have a manual honda jazz (just about bullet proof) that is in great condition (we have owned it since new) that is our run around car.

Once the skoda arrives, i'm looking at a 8L Audi S3 as a little run about to replace the jazz (same levels of reliability, maybe not, but fun, fast and relatively cheap - yes please!). Want to get something that I can mod a little myself with parts I source cheap. Will do all the maintenance etc on it, and just keep it as a fun (second) car while the octavia does family duties and plays reliable mainstay. They seem to go pretty good std (AWD and 165kw for the later versions) and respond very well to mods. Can get them for about 12.5K too, which is dirt cheap!

                        • Spoke to Skoda customer service and they got back to me with a potential October build date, most likely January/February delivery. Since I ordered on April 11 this is unacceptable. I have just sold my current car so I have begrudgingly had to cancel my order or be without a car for 3-4 months which isn't a possibility. I have instead purchased a Volvo V40 T5 R-Design with the new 2.0ltr turbo petrol. A bit smaller than the wagon I wanted but similar features minus panoramic sunroof and I will have it in 2 weeks as it's already in Sydney. What could have been....

That's called a 'phoneworthy' I've had one before a few years ago on an old ute. It was legal, except for some seats that weren't engineered. They were on proper rails, correct bolts etc. Just didn't want to cough up the massive amount for an engineer to give me a mod plate.

^ edit. Sucks that you have had to cancel. Maybe let people know what dealer so they can take your place in the queue.
