Skoda's plan is to be the biggest **** tease ever. Offer a great car at a good price, but not be able to actually get one.... They allocate them randomly. Getting one is like winning the lottery.

I'm sure their business plan is like this to force people to vw or Audi. I'm waiting because I'm a stubborn bastard.

Skoda has a monkey pulling individual orders out of a big barrel. That's how they allocate the build dates. If the monkey has to do a crap it wipes it's date with the order and that one never gets built until someone gets brave enought to clean the crap off the order.

I imagine it as the orders get printed in batches, then someone walks out with reams of them above the factory floor, and they just throw the out and watch thousands of sheets of paper go all over the floor. Workers then pick paper up and start building. Sometimes sheets go under machines, and don't get found until the end of the month clean.

This seems the most plausible explanation to how orders are processed.

I was upset before, now I'm really pissed.
I have been trying to contact the salesjerk at Trivett Rosebery and haven't been able to get through. The reason is that Trivett now sell Skoda at their Parramatta branch. It was so nice of them to let us know.
I am still waiting to hear from the relevant sales moron there. I am still keen to buy the RS as the equivalent car that has a similar level of fruit is the A4 Avant which is a lot more expensive.
I just posted a not happy comment on their Facebook page. I wonder how long it will stay for

Is there a chance you're just a victim of one occasion of poor communications between branches? I understand how frustrated you must feel but I was happy with service at Parra. I'd chase it one more time and bail if they don't redeem themselves.

Sad to hear of all these delays. We ordered 16 May and it landed in Australia on the 8th of September. I think people need to be a little less trusting of some of these dealers and get firm cancellation clauses in the contract.
There is enough feedback out there to know once things like manuals, combis and sunroofs get included you are screwed. I also feel that Skoda Australia are fairly incompetent and hindered by VW Australia. Combine all that with overwhelming demand in Europe and it all becomes clear.

Your experience benmac is certainly not normal. I suspect the dealer had another order (cancelled) and you just happened to turn up at the right time so you could modify it before it for locked in. (It had already had it's ~3 month wait before you tried to buy). It's the only explanation for how quick you for the car. Any genuine from scratch order is 6+ months

Just gotta be in the right place at the right time I guess, good luck to you getting it though!

OilBurna.... what are you asking here? I will ask, as I am keen on a vRS Wagon, DSG TDI and Tech pack..... is the form time of order and wait time still going to drag us well into 2015?

It's already 2015 for orders placed way back so yes, anything now will deliver next yr most likely. I think it will take until the new MY16 to settle down.
