Technically I can wait it out and hope the person who buys the dealer will get into gear and get it to me before xmas. But i'm not taking that risk when I can break the contract now, get it to another dealer and get the car. GCS looked after me.

Did you ask GCS if they'd price your car less the deposit?

I still don't understand why you lose your deposit. It's not you who's cancelled the contract, surely it's BB? If they're not cancelling the contract then they're honouring it and providing you with your car? They've broken there end of the deal/contract not you. I'd be seeking legal advice on this (if the dep amount is worth chasing??).

Possibly there is no money to refund or only a small percentage? I'd take GTR27s route as well.

Given BB has lost the Franchise, there is no way they can supply a new car. There is also now nothing (franchised dealership) for the receivers to sell, so I really can’t see how anyone else can come along and deliver the car.

Surely the fail to supply is on your side GTR… At worse you will have to line up with the other creditors and get ??in the $.

It will all be lining up with the other creditors, which means highly likely no money. He will be down the bottom of a massive pile with the money running out well before then....if there even is any.

I'm not getting that money back without wasting lots of time or money chasing it. Cutting my losses and moving on. Worse now is I just got an email from Skoda saying that they are inspecting all the cars as not all of them were undercover (despite assurances last week they were) and mine could potentially be damaged. I have replied that damaged and repaired is not a new car so if that's the case, we need to negotiate a different outcome.

The yard they refer to has huge areas covered by hail nets, however - when I went past on Saturday, the shear number of cars currently stored there means there's a lot of cars (several different makes) sitting in the open. I can't remeber ever seeing those yards this full. Unfortunatly from all reports, Thursday's storm ripped through there - which shows how much of a strip it was. I live on the other side of the river and we didn't even get leaves in the pool - couple km away was complete carnage.

GTR - if it's damaged, do you have the patience to order another Skoda? I'm near the point of going postal just following this....

I couldn't order another one. Wife would not wait this long again (it's her car). If we couldn't get an acceptable model in stock (it needs pano roof and xenon's minimum, manual and wagon) then we would look at other brands. Probably a Renault megane gt220, as that's the closest thing. Honestly, I don't want anything else, because (unless I spend 70k) nothing else is comparable in size, specs etc. A 320i wagon in manual is the next closest thing, would need to be ordered and would be 62-70k. It's also smaller inside (but rwd and better engine).

Wife is hammering me to cancel and buy something else.

My dealer is avoiding me now and not returning my calls, requiring me to call him back several times. I asked about a loan car as I have sold my current (and only car) and need a car until my new (and correct) order arrives in late March. His response: "I dont have a car to give you for that long". WTF!?!?! You're a car dealership, you have new and used cars on your books. My patience is almost gone and I am beginning to regret placing another order with this dealership.

In the UK, any wait over 5 months Skoda supplies a car to use. I might ask Skoda about that (and the wife). If the worst happens. If they gave us an Octavia loan car until a car we found acceptable came in (or we ordered) then I would order again.

I think we need awards as the world's most patient customers.

Been a way for the last few weeks, really sorry to read about all the troubles here, hopefully Skoda and resolve this asap, can't imagine a normal customer being willing to put up with all this. It really is surreal to read

I can't imagine pretty much anyone putting up with this. But there's plenty of us in this thread with crazy waits or other issues being patient. Skoda should be thankful for customers like us and treat us well. I hope.

An RS wagon is still the car that meets my wants and needs better than anything else on the market. No way I'll be ordering one though.
