New Octavia ....when? How Much?

The yard they refer to has huge areas covered by hail nets, however - when I went past on Saturday, the shear number of cars currently stored there means there's a lot of cars (several different makes) sitting in the open. I can't remeber ever seeing those yards this full. Unfortunatly from all reports, Thursday's storm ripped through there - which shows how much of a strip it was. I live on the other side of the river and we didn't even get leaves in the pool - couple km away was complete carnage.

GTR - if it's damaged, do you have the patience to order another Skoda? I'm near the point of going postal just following this....

I'm looking for an Octavia or Superb Elegance Wagon at the moment through a broker. There is 0% chance I'll be ordering anything. If they don't have it, I ain't buying. I'm also looking at trading my 2010 TSI RS, very interested to see what that comes back at!

My dealer is avoiding me now and not returning my calls, requiring me to call him back several times. I asked about a loan car as I have sold my current (and only car) and need a car until my new (and correct) order arrives in late March. His response: "I dont have a car to give you for that long". WTF!?!?! You're a car dealership, you have new and used cars on your books. My patience is almost gone and I am beginning to regret placing another order with this dealership.

I think you often have to spell out to the dealership that you don't care what brand of car it is or if it's a bit of a dunger. As long as it's safe & reliable. They often think that you are asking for the demo stock or something with zero miles.

They will let me cancel my order without any issues/loss.
Seeing as I've just sold my car and need something and the dealer doesn't/wont help, I'm seriously considering cancelling my order and getting something else. This way I save money and don't have to buy a car while waiting for the new car to turn up.

Post it on facebook & see what Skoda corporate thinks. Be quite specific that cancelling your order is a distinct possibility.

It's not like you're asking for a car during the wait for your first order. Your order arrived from Skoda so you sold your first car, only to then find out that Skoda had stuffed up and delivered the wrong car. Only then seems fair that Skoda provide you with a car until they fix up their stuff up. It's becoming more and more evident that Skoda Australia really don't care about their loyal customers. Shame really given the products (cars) they produce are a damn good car.

Skoda didn't stuff up though... I think his dealer did. Dealer should be helping you out IMO. Maybe ask Skoda to help you out with dealer

I already have a contact at VW/Skoda HQ from last time I posted on fb. Might call them.....

The thing is, I sesnse that the dealership want me to go away (I think it might be to do with the fact they are not making any money from my sale plus the loss on the my15 order, just not in their interest). I just don't believe them when they say 'we don't have a single car to loan you'. They have new and used VW, Skoda, Nissan and a few others. Its complete bs as far as im concerned. I can walk away and I won't for fit my deposit either

Can you go to another dealer? If your after auto then there are quite a few auto Octavias about. Enquire at another dealer and see how you go. If you do end up cancelling, call Skoda and tell them it's a cancelled order so they take it off the dealer (and they don't keep the ghost order, adding further delay to others).

I got an email this morning from Skoda saying the majority of cars are undercover, with very few affected. They are auditing all cars for damage and will let me know tomorrow if mine is damaged or not..... I REALLY hope it's not damaged and they release it to GCS, so I can get it sometime next week (this delay means no chance this week). That's my ideal goal. If its toast, then I guess we will have to work from there. Wife will not wait for another, she is at the point of rip contract up and just buy something.....

So tomorrow is d-day......
