I will post up a newer one soon, to be safe please reset settings from the settings menu, reset the radio fuse, then update to the latest firmware (when I post it up that is). If the issue still come up let me know.

If you have the white screen then yes you may, just wait till after the production unit is released.

Just to check regarding the CAN-Bus though, have you updated to the latest firmware? Your firmware version should look identical to the one just posted by Fdandy.

          • I am still unable to run the SD playback and the Nav at the same time without the music playback severly stuttering, or that memory leak msg appearing that I posted earlier. I am on the latest firmware revision and have tried a reset.

Also no one really answered my question about the air con pop up info. I was of the understanding that when you change something it pops up on the screen for a few seconds. Does this work for anyone else? I dont get anyting when I change a setting.

Looking forward to that next revision update!

I am not sure if the AC info pop up is car model specific (ie MK5 vs MK6 vs Jetta) but make sure you go into your Menu, System (I think) and there should be settings for the amount of time it displays...perhaps this is set to 0 seconds or something??? I am not in my car so can't remember what the exact menu is....system or general I think....

Mine was set to 5 secs by default. I tried all the other settings but still nothing. I have a Mk5 GTI with the budget half height MFD so that might be the issue but it would be nice to get a bit of clarification as nothing was said about any model specific limitations earlier.

Either way the memory leak issue is a bigger issue for me at the moment. Its strange my unit is the only one experiencing it although others have reported issues with the SD playback module so it could all be related. I want to test the USB input and see if it has similar issues but I need to get one from Sandy first.

Hopefully the new firmware addresses some of these issues.

The other thing I came across when searching for Aftermarket "OEM" units like this was for the AC controls to work on the display, it had to be a dual climatic control system (ie left and right separate temp settings). Sandy, maybe AS has some info on this.

Yep. You need the Mk6 Climatronics unit to make it do this. The Mk5 Climatronics unit is not capable of displaying the data.

We are talking full climate control and not just A/C. Take a look at http://www.bold-sport.com/store/inde...product_id=149 they have the unit plus the new fascia surround to make it fit. They also have some pictures of which units can be upgraded.

I believe you need to change a pin out on the harness for Mk5 to make it remember the temperature it was set at after you turn the car off.

                      • Ok that makes sense now. I have the dual zone climatronic unit but not the upgraded mk6 one. Thanks for clearing that up!

                          • Oh, one other tip. If you get a monsun.exe or other freeze~ if you press in both dials, it does a power off in which I can turn back on unit without key pull.

Theres really nothing more to show over what Sandy already has in his videos. All the same functionality is there and the known bugs are well documented here.
