Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled
After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.
Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before.
We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

still feeling good about the polo at mallala on saturday , suprised alot of drivers on how quick it was. The track was pretty damp so esp went on alot. Outdrove a subaru , integra , sprinter , down the straights there wasn't much in it with any cars including a f360 ( which took 9 laps to overtake me ) . Tyres were pretty trashed to begin with so traction was a slight problem - fuel all good just used 98 plus octane booster ( nulon ) , still pretty happy as after the day the fuel economy was 17.6l / 100 not bad when the average speed was 79km AVG. Best time posted was 1:37 , should be alot better next time with some sticky rubber and a dry track.

Don't get too carried away here boys and girls... i can get a 1:37 out of a 1300cc mini in the wet.
The new motor has done a 1:28 in the dry.
I'm hoping for a mid-to-low 1:24 in my pog.
Still, full points for getting out there and into it, instead of Belair Road!Cheap, Fast, Reliable. Choose two.

hit a piece of chep pallet board on the F3 (near the mooney mooney exit) northbound at 5:30am today... took a chunk out of the inside RHF rim, annihilated the tyre, and snapped the RHR rim in two, also annihilating the tyre
NRMA wouldnt cover it as a breakdown (tow was $140), and to make it worse, the media was saying on the traffic reports that i put it into a wallnot what happened !!
not good when ive had my pog for a week driving from melb to brisbaneMY07 Polo GTi
Last run - 114.8kw atw
Winton - 1:52.7130

You can claim against the RTA or councils if there is something wrong with the road (pot holes, road work where they've left gravel all over the place etc), but I'm not sure you could claim against them when someone has lost part of their load and you've run into it. It does suck though, sorry to hear you had these troubles.

To me its the same thing as an person falling on a sidewalk due to a stuffed paver or fallen tree branch - the council is liable?
