Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

The new forum software is an upgraded version of what came before, it's mostly the same but also a little different. Hopefully easier to use and more stable than before. We are learning together here, so please be patient. If you have questions, please post them here. If you have worked something out and can provide an answer,

Cheers mate, yours looks sweet with the wheels painted like that.
Mine is good from far, but up close needs a polish and wax to give it a nice lustre again

They are just replicas from eBay
is that allowed on here? how did they get into the country, given that customs officers are now trained stancebros who can spot the difference between original vs. similar design by another manufacturer, in every wheel in every container that comes into the country?

Well, I didn't really think of that when I bought them Scotty
But lucky me I didn't get any notice from the customs
They even arrive earlier than I expected

haha nice! your car resonates with me big time - same colour as mine was, and i was looking to ultimately head down a similar path re: turbo etc.

ah, getting spanked in the back by TDI torque... i miss it. yours must haul!

              • I know the feeling however getting your hands cut every time you give her a wash is one of the ways to reduce wheel of deep detail time. And i use a nice paint sealer on the painted rims as well it really helps keep the rims clean and makes them really easy to keep clean. Have fun! (its not detailed unless you bleed a little )

                • Upgraded to the diesel version PowerFlex dog bone bush
Improvement is really great, hell lot smoother power delivery while only have acceptable increase in-cabin vibration
                  No more jerky 1st gear
Really should of be 1 of my very first mod

Also put on the solid shifter bracket bush from Gavin
Gear shift is much nicer, tighter

The turbo is amazing, but still need some tweaking to get the full power

It was a 4X4 with bull bar right? Where did yours end up with?

Nice! You got any photos? Did you do the fitting yourself?

It's going to rock. Big silencers in that system?

                          • Magnaflow 200 cell cat, magnaflow resonator and a magnaflow muffler.

I've left the finer details to the guys doing it (RAMP, they come recommended by a lot over here for this sort of thing). I've said I don't want it to drone. Subtle at idle but loud when I stick the boot in. Hardest decision at the moment is the tip, leaning towards a 90 degree dump.
