What did you do to your Polo today?

Since the rotor are a chunk of gray cast iron, I think what is happening is that the pad material that gets deposited on to the surface of the rotor is glazing with the heat - are you finding that the pads are also glazed in these instances?
And what have you done, afterwards? Replaced them?

I'd hazard a guess your bushes in the back may be shot. I had a similar issue in my old starlet. Replaced bushes and it didn't move around so much under brakes.

If they are, then they'll be replaced on warranty since the car is so new!!

It really did feel like what happens with too much preload on the rear of a motorcycle or when you brake hard enough to get the rear off the ground (and I severely doubt the Polo was doing that).

The GTI's do, same as the MK4 gti, not sure about TDI's tho

Are you sure, from what I was told they use the 6 Bolt Flywheel. Eh will find out when my box comes out :p

Yeah, I've just done mine. . Our (ASZ motor) is a 6 bolt flywheel, but the pattern is what is important from what I understood.

Just picked up a set of 8L S3 brakes... Another thing to add to the car when I get it back...

Where'd you find them, blitzen? I've been keeping an eye out for a cost effective brake upgrade for my Po and s3 brakes were top of the list but I haven't managed to find any as yet.
