Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

      Hey Gav - any specific sized head gasket on yours, or just standard size?

      BJX motor runs 9.5:1 comp. My head being milled has probably increased this to around 9.7:1. Looking to drop comp with a cometic HG at a measured 100thou height...

        A Treadstone one, just for development purposes. No tune just yet, I am still not 100% about the motor, dodgy NSP oil pressure gauge being my major concern.

        I am keen to do another oil change with nothing metallic in first.

        Mike my HG is off the shelf from Imparts. So nothing special, head was faced but Just to clean it off really.

              What I really am pleasantly surprised about is the Squibs excellant fuel sipping. Wow the Squib is a teetotaler!

                Thanks Al, driving yours highlighted how average my suspension is compared to coilovers. Much smoother over small imperfections. Mine is ok if the tarmac is like glass and that's about it ;(

                    It's still running mate. I had some time off in January and drove to Adelaide and back for the TDU. I have also been doing lots of overtime at work.

                    I just did an update to another Phase 3 Polo which is running really nice now.

                    There's another Phase 3 Polo coming up soon but the owner's not on the forums, so it's not appropriate to post details on here. The car does have some previous form though.
