In 1st and 2nd the engine will gobble up boost, as fast as the turbo makes it. In 3rd the turbo gets a chance to get ahead of the engine. Especially on a hill to slow down the acceleration.
Looking with VCDS is better still, your boost gauge may not be very well calibrated.

i know theres stuff on ebay, but could u trust any of them??
Even though there are alot of VAG cars that use 1.8 Turbo engines, there are a lot of different engine codes, power outputs, and internals associated with the engine between the cars, so if you see 'will suit 1.8T', don't automatically assume that that particular part will automatically fit or suit the Polo GTI..."If can't get behind your troops, feel free to stand in front of them..."
