Cheers man, installing in on Saturday and didn't want to plug in the wrong one and have it not work. Can't be bothered pulling apart panels again :-P

Do you have a VCDS cable? If you want the voice recognition to work off the mic button the steering wheel you need to code it in, else it will just function as the mute button as it would do now. I prefer it to mute anyway as I found the voice recognition a hindrance more than a help anyway.

        Thanks for the feedback guys.

So pontif's 7P6035730F is confirmed not to be able to skip BT tracks while readerr0r's 5K0035730F does have this feature (assuming pontif's phone supported said feature as well).

Hmm. I just bought the 7P6 yesterday to be used with RCD510....bad choice or small feature I probably won't notice?

I use an iPhone4s but given it just says "BT-Audio" I suspect it may be an RCD issue not so much a BT issue, as there are people previous who have bought from bluewagen/vag-navisystems and got the proper integration so who knows. One of the ways you could work it out would be to compare the BT and RCD part number pairs. Could it be that the 'highline' RCD510 that comes with the RVC connection is a 'fuller featured' unit?

            Cheers,
            Aaron

Possible but I personally doubt it. In the main BT thread a lot of people had purchased new units around the same time from different places and only a couple had this feature. There are more versions of BT units out there than there are RCD510s.

Depends on what phone handset you have and your usage patterns. I used to use it a shedload on the JVC unit i had in 6n1 due to the fact that the only other option was AUX (which sucked) and the USB port stuck out the front so it looked crappy.

On the 6R not so much, as most things i just load onto the SD card which sits flush in the unit and given the large touchscreen functionality of the RCD510 it negates any need I would have had to use it on the iPhone anyway. Don't get me wrong, I am sure there are times that it WOULD be useful, however I have not had it long enough to work out what one of them would be. I have only had BT for a week now but in that time, i have not actually had the urge to use it at all.

Like I posed above though, I think we may need a little more information / correlation as to whether the AD2P integration (or a different / more advanced form of it) is provided through the actual BT module or the RCD unit. A few different people with and without the functionality posting their part numbers should show what is happening

True...The only reason why i mention correlating RCD(or RNS as you rightly pointout) and BT modules as i am sure there would be people out there who have not yet bought that would like to know that if I have RCD/RNS version xxx with PN xxxx if I get xxxxx version of the BT module it would most likely work, but its all a little too hard so never mind...

Anyone know if there is a install guide somewhere on these forums for retrofitting the bluetooth myself for the Polo?

                    Thanks

What are you expecting to be different? I installed my BT kit using a guide for the Passat.

For the record, I too am disappointed that my 9w7 will not allow control of my Android phone via the RCD 510 - if it is as simple as an RCD 510 firmware upgrade, please let us know.

Mine was also bought from Spain - 7P6 035 730 F And the installers put it behind the dash, also.

I am disappointed in the BT control, and the garbled phone book, but am plenty pleased that I can stream via BT, anyway - the player in my phone is so much more powerful than the RCD 510, playing Apple formats without reconverting, and resuming where I left off (in the case of long podcasts). Plus, I always have my phone on me, so only one device to sync (ie: no need for a separate SD card)

I can't believe the RCD 510 will not play Apple music without reconverting, out of the box.

Seems like we are developing a trend with these units. Will let you know how mine goes when it arrives.

Also looking at getting some trim tools. Are these generic tool sets you can get from local autoshop or VW/polo specific?

You installed it in the dash... cool is there room for that?

I know it's for Golf and it's basically the same I was going to use that guide anyways. Might get someone else to do it though as it just seems to time consuming and I might stuff something up.

                                What trim tools?
