The other 2 parts are:
- connection pipe between air intake and intake manifold (part number 6R0 129 684 E)
- ventilation hose for the air intake (part number 03C 103 558 AA)
Made absolutely no difference to my CAVE - all snake oil for mine. I got a new CAVE engine 4000kms ago, not a drop of oil used since. I ran it in like I stole it & have driven it like a manual since replacement.Last edited by kevinctr; 01-08-2013, 11:57 PM.

If you have an empty 1L oil bottle, just buy a 5L & decant into the 1L as required. If the dealer is unwilling to give you free top-ups then I wouldn't buy from himcarandimage The place where Off-Topic is On-Topic
I used to think I was anal-retentive until I started getting involved in car forums

Ive had about 3 oil consumption tests done so far. But the dealer even agrees that eventually this 400mL consumption will rise soon meaning an engine rebuild. I think for my car the more highways i take ( no traffic that is just going 100km constantly) my oil consumption goes down so hopefully if I'm in like city traffic this consumption will push past the 400mL.

kevinctr,
Incorrect, I have them on mine. Not much more than a convoluted hose & rubber pipe btw. I believe the TSB may say CTHE, but applies to CAVE as well. I took before & after photos for verification when it was done. I take before & after's for everything as the dealers quite often damage things........

MY13.5 (CTHE) Just topped up with 2L after the warning light came on at 5400km (2 months old).
Yes, I am ashamed that I didn't check the level sooner but I mistakenly assumed they addressed the consumption issue with the engine update.
For those keeping score: my running in tactic was to drive it like I always will, no babying it (mind you I drive for engine longevity at the best of times)... but I did give it some stink in its first 100kms.

The oil warning light just came on, on my CTHE-engine MY13 car, after 1520KMs (I had been checking and knew it was dropping slowly). I have driven the car pretty gently, right from the outset. The vast majority of the 1500KMs have been from cold in commuter traffic.
Straight to the dealer, who topped it up with 1L for free and noted the mileage. If we see similar oil usage in the next 1500KMs, then they will do a consumption test.
