finally got to pick our car up today, ordered 18th Dec. only had one minor problem, wife found a small dint in the right front guard so the car will be going back soon so it can be sorted out. dealer was very apologetic and organised a fix there and then.

Yup. I made the mistake of waiting a whole 2 weeks and when I picked it up, it had 30+ kms on it. I'm sure it was the token demo!

Thanks probably would have put more options on her if any were available lol.
the dint is very small can only see it in the right light, but glad Kel (eagle eye) saw it before we left.

Hi Everyone I'm new and I got a new (well 2010 with 3,000km on the clock) red GTI with xenons and leather been driving it for a week and loving it! Dealer was okay to deal with but car was sold without log books cause apparently VW doesn't have any?? Sounds fishy...

Regardless, today unfortunately it also got its first new scratch by another Polo driver who smacked their trolley into it in the parking lot when I was at work! luckily my workmates saw the whole thing and have the persons number plate so hopefully can try and get it all sorted with insurance - have never made a claim before but trust as soon as I get a new car it happens!

Welcome to the forum Karly, sad to hear about the scratch, hope it all gets sorted out. It is still a new car and should have the log book for future servicing, can the dealer explain what happened to it? intriguing? Nice to hear you are at least having fun driving it

They have promised to post me the log book in about 3 weeks - will probably need to bug them about it as from previous experience with VW dealers they aren't to great on these types of things!

I thought the car was a dealer demo but apparently it was being driven by someone within VW Australia.

Very sorry to hear about the trolley damage, thankfully you have witnesses, hope it all works out in your favour.

I haven't seen the leatherette in the flesh yet, my own order includes this spec, so any feedback would be great.
Interesting dealer response regarding the log book considering it was driven in house?

Could be a coincidence, but may be the same dealership we ordered from as they did have a Polo GTI advertised with
same specs as yours which sold a few weeks ago?

Good news is my log books all arrived in the post today! The dealer I bought from was in Frankston - I was thinking of placing an order so went initially to check it out as it had leather and wanted to see what it was like ...I liked it so much and since the car had all the options I liked decided to purchase

But yeah I'm interested to see how the leather will do in the summer but atm it's good - comfortable, easy to keep clean, theated seats are nice on the cold days (ass burning hot on the high setting haha).

As for the complaints on rattles - I haven't had any as yet. I have managed to confuse the DSG (car kept flicking up and down gears then shuddered and almost stalled??) once though and that was a bit worrying! Mostly though it is very smooth and great fun on sport/tiptronic

I picked up mine this afternoon after a four month wait. She is so pretty and fun to drive!!

It is flash red, 77tsi dgs with the sports pack. I'm in love but the hill assist hesitation is annoying me a bit im sure I'll get use to it.
