Bambazonke, how is the quality of the SW? The leather, the stitches, etc?
I havent hit the buy button yet, but bought a few led bulbs from other sellers to test how the allibaba site works.
The stitching looks exactly the same and at this stage the leather is the same however over time it may change like any other leather products.I regularly coat my leather in both my 320d and Tig with dubbin as here in this part of QLD it gets pretty hot in summer. I don't expect it deteriorate anymore than one made in Europe.

Someone else has from the forum has definitely bought a SW from the same seller as me as Mr Hao has listed 2 subsequent buyers to me. The other person was from Argentina. I would also like to know how their purchase and postage went
Hi, new VW owner here. Bought my MY11 147TSI Tiguan back in March and got the paddle shift MFSW and lowline RVC from Hao Xu for AUD425 delivered. From memory, he mailed it on Monday and I received it on Friday. Installed both items over the weekend. MFSW was certainly an easy and quick install and the RVC retrofit was a real PITA but loving it.
PS my next mod has just arrived from Germany .... folding mirrors/puddle lights AUD430 landed
Are you able to share where you got your mirrors from? I'm already itching for the next mod and I've been searching the Internet the past few days for folding mirrors with no luck. All I could find were some Kool-Vue mirrors for left hand drive vehicles (not sure if it matters).

Just out interest Bambazonke ... would I be correct in assuming the folding mirrors come unpainted?
So need to fork out some more money to get them painted to match?

Should be able to reuse the mirror cap (top part of the mirror that is painted) and glass from your existing mirrors. Also, I may also be able to reuse my existing door controllers. The following forum member with working folding mirrors have the same part no as the controllers in my Tig.

In the proces of installing the folding mirrors will try and answer the questions above
1. Original mirror switch made in China! So if vw germany are using Chinese made parts in EU assembled VW's I see no issue with where the Steering wheel is made with respect to quality. BTW the new mirror folding switch is made in Malaysia complete with vw emblem and part number!
2. The mirrors I bought were second hand out of a 2011 Tig and the covers are maroon however as scooby pointed out the glass and painted cover are interchangeable However you will need a special Vw tool to get behind the mirror to unclip it without breaking it. I am off to the local dealer now to see if he will loan me the tool. Some good news the local techie showed me how to remover the cover without the special tool.
A. Tilt mirror down as far as possible then use a hacksaw blade or in my case a dinning room knife and GENTLY wedge the 2 clips down. use a torch to see them before hand and monitor progress.
B.Place the whole mirror mounting against your chest and pull apart may take a bit of force and Your fingertips will be a bit sensitive after doing this a few times as I decided to install the mirrors in the meantime while I try and source new UDS controllers that support the folding function puddle lights and possibly one other function
3.i have just realized the door controllers supplied are for the old individual controller setup. My car has the new UDS controllers which incorporate the rear door modules as a slave so my back doors/windows will not work if I use the controllers supplied.
4. Anybody intending to install these folding mirrors here in Aus will most likely have to replace their existing modules as the pins are missing for these functions. They carry the same part number but have a a couple of letters after the part number to differentiate their functionality.
5. I will be selling these modules once I get the equivalent UDS controller ones for anyone who manages to get the mirrors only.
6. Brush up on your German and search eBay Germany for Tiguan spiegel (mirror) that is where I find most of my parts for my Tig

Got myself in some trouble over the weekend as i got myself a new mountain bike. Swapped a frame and cash for a new bike so buying a steering wheel isnt going to happen any time soon though time will tell, i may win lotto lol
Just resurrecting this post. So if I am not mistaken, if I have a 2011 Tig, all I need is an identical paddle shift enabled steering wheel, and VCDS to get this mod up and running? I'm guessing I don't need to update any controllers etc and it should be simple plug and play?
Not overly keen on paddle shifts but if it improves driving pleasure than I may opt for this mod in the near future, providing it is simple enough though. I installed an Audi flat bottom RS4 steering wheel in my TT without any issues, but this Tig always throws up little curve balls you need to dodge!

Yes you can either get an identical shaped wheel with paddle shifters (and re-use your airbag) or get one of the flat-bottomed wheels (GTI or R) but then you'll need an airbag as well. Given that you have an R-line kit an R wheel wouldn't look out of place.
I suspect that you should be able to retrofit these to a non-paddle-shift steering wheel and then enable using VCDS. This is probably the most cost-effective way of doing this upgrade, however not sure if anyone has done it yet so you may be doing some pioneering work on this one.

There's quite a few people that have done this mod and it's relatively straight forward. If you're going to do it yourself just be careful when handling the airbag as they can do serious damage if they get deployed accidentally.
I'm not sure about the DSG transmission in the diesel as I haven't driven one but it may be better suited to the diesel engine (haven't heard of so many complaints). However in the petrol I used to use manual shifting all the time until I got a DSG tune. Even now I use the paddle shifters if I want to have a more spirited drive.

If I remember correctly, The above is not possible as the SW spokes are different and would require major modifications and in my opinion it would be easier to swop out SW's as it would require cutting of the leather and restitching

I have a diesel and as I said before it does make the car more driveable especially when you really want to "move it up" Not sure if there are any other Tig diesel owners out there that have paddle shift can share or concur with my views.
Bit of a bump but worth noting for future readers, ever since I purchased Guy_H's DSG software tune I find that instead of always using the paddles to shift, I now hardly ever do since D (auto) better matches how I'd drive manually anyway. Of course the the car still looks heaps better with the sports steering wheel compared to stock.
