peak power? I see a lot of refs to power in this thread as I often do in motoring mags but little discussion on Torque. Sure peak power is of interest, but the torque characteristics are also very important and determine the spread of power (Dynos measure torque and the power is calculated from that).
Torque is a big part of the reason why the Tig in stock form, while being one of the heaviest of the small SUVs, is substantially quicker than most of the other 4 cyclinder variants of small SUVs. Most of them have about the same peak power as the stock Tig (around 125 kw), but the Tig trounces most of them because it has substantially greater torque over a much wider rev range.
So the same argument (as Robby's) could have been mounted against stock TSI's - 'dont tell me the stock tig with just 125 kw of power and heavier than the others beats them by 1.5-2 seconds in 0-100'. Well it does and that is due to torque.
Peak power is only part of the story.....Tiguan TSI Catalina blue, Manual

If you have the intake and the downpipe then you should get the stage 2 software thrown in free....
I don't know of a Stage 2+ arrangement.

As far as i am aware the process is as follows.
Buy APR Stage 1 Ecu remap.
Then buy Downpipe and Intake and you get a free sorftware update to Stage 2.
From memory you cannot jump straight to stage 2 without paying for the software though.

Tiguan 125TSI Manual about $40000 .... 14.02s
And given the Tiguans power:weight disadvantage this is an excellent performance ..... for a performance hatch do you really need to look elsewhere ?.... Up to a 100km/h , which in reality is all you need in and around the city, the Tig would be quicker than any of these ......

I have often wondered how the advantage of awd cars faster 0-100 times than fwd cars translates across to 0-400m times and speeds? Does a faster 0-100 time always mean a faster 0-400m time?Nov '15 Polo 81TSI manual white

I'm not questioning the value of the stage 1 remap on the 125TSI. It appears to be the best bang for your bucks improvement being offered on any car - Golf R power for cheap that's for sure.Nov '15 Polo 81TSI manual white
