Assuming Tigger73 has a 3" DP, do you have one also veew?
I have the standard DP, he probably has the 3" with his Stage 3 upgrade.
I'll update the video to include that.

I did a quick exhaust comparison between the 2 cars in the carpark which was windy, not ideal I know.
Hopefully still helpful for those still deciding what they want to do.
It was good to finally catch up and compare notes. I actually quite like how yours sounds on the inside - it's there but still quite subtle burbles and pops.

Yes I have a 3" DP with high flow 200 cell cat, no centre resonator and then the R rear muffler with either valves open or closed (I generally run the system with valves closed).

If you're inside a Golf R then you need to disable the Soundaktor as a starter to actually hear the "real" engine/exhaust rather than the "fake" piped noise. And yes res delete does make the exhaust slightly more raspy - it's not a great sound on cold start to be honest but after it warms up it's fine.

Smooths it out a lot, however it's still a ways from what I wish the cars sounded like. Now to pour over aftermarket muffler sounds for a few weeks...
That is with the resonator removed. You don't get that rasp on start up with a resonator.
He also has the stock downpipe connected.
He does have it rigged so that the res delete pipe can be unclasped and the resonator put back in place in a matter of minutes.
I know this because I bought a Golf R muffler off him

"Is that with a res delete too?"

"the stock Tiguan resonator left in place for now"
My mistake then. Those comments weren't present on that specific clip when I looked.

Mk7r stock exhaust, res delete and xforce tips. Thought the standard tips were a bit small and stock looking for the tig so got something a bit bigger and different.

Still a bit too quiet for me but will wait till i get the downpipe to see how it is [emoji1419]

                    • Hi everyone! Can anyone give me a tip on how to install an AWE switchpath remote? I know you use the power of the 12v plug in the boot, but which route did you go through to get to the muffler?

It seems like best option for my needs (oem+) may be a cast dp with a high cat, and a custom centre resonator into a golf r back section.
In Drive the farts are there just subtle when compared to other tigs with stock piping and res deletes. There's a nice deep low note at idle and very low speed. There's also nice subtle exhaust gurgles when slowing down.
In Sports it sounds nothing like a Tig and more like a race car, especially with spirited driving, haha. The farts are louder but again nothing like those with res deletes and stock piping.

The car is a pleasure to drive daily with the resonator in place. Even the wife loves driving it around.
Whilst there is the occasional bit of cabin noise it's not uncomfortable or painful and just serves to remind anyone in the car that it's not stock.

That sounds on the higher end of things. If it's got the electronic valve actuators around $250-300 and without $150-200. Ring around a few of the tuner shops and you may be able to pick one up. I know Pacortech sold off a few recently for a good price.

                                And he started at $500

                                It's also a 2015, so 5 years old already. He's dreaming.
