Hi all... HBA can be activated with the app, which I used. I had the lights set to AUTO, and the stalk forward, but high beams would not activate.

I have the same problem and can't turn off at light settings.

Was it dark enough for them to come on. If you want to turn it off dont push the stalk so far forward

HBA app works but you have to code VERY CAREFULLY to get DLA to work and the method posted by Phonebooth definitely works and can be verified by the dance the lights do in a darkened garage when you turn them on

It has to be really dark with no cars etc. anywhere in front for them to work..

Unlike other cars with this feature, individual led lights in each headlight cant operate to enable the high beam to work without blinding oncoming traffic, full highbeam on both lights seems to only work when active.

The lights do it by adjusting the beam or by shutters, unlike the Audis which have matrix lights which can turn off individual spots of the Led,s to achieve a similar outcome

My advice is NOT to buy OBD11, and if you already have, chuck it in the bin. It has cost me a heap of credits to activate High Beam Assist, then deactivate, and then revert to original. Support is woeful.

Danintas, everything can be done and undone by long coding. The credits/apps(or whatever they’re called) are shortcuts for POTENTIAL features of VW vehicles. Nothing is guaranteed to automatically work on Australia market tiguans/golfs/etc.

Coding (still easy) is the best way to play.

Feel free to sell yours/bin it, but learn from the experience- don’t blame the tool.

Hardly their fault you didnt follow what has been posted about it and the app DOES work because I did it on mine no trouble. Also you can just revert it back and not need 3 lots of credits or could even have coded it back for free

Does you vehicle meet the criteria HIGHLINE ??????? Lots more tweaks available and not a credit used In fact I have 621 saved up and not needed

If you used coding it wouldnt have cost you anything and the coding for that is on the Autoinstruct site as per here and it DOES WORK

Byte 2 – Tick Bit 0 and Bit 1

Select Control Unit Front Sensor Driver Assist System (A5)
Enter Coding
Byte 21 – Tick Bit 5

Reboot Headunit. Option will now appear under ‘Light Settings’ and pushing the high beam stalk forward will reveal the symbol with an ‘A’ within it.

Followed directions and was going well until the last step.
Selected A5 entered the long coding but no Byte options came up, help please I'm only new at this so be patient.

USe the 'Go advanced button and follow prompts

When u entered A5 did you scroll along to byte 21

To the right of long Coding at the top is a little box with O and 1 on it press the right side of it and magically what you want will appear

Learning a bit more with each step but still not showing in the light settings.
Byte 5 isn't shown but I presume it's the light assist box, there are 2 more unlisted boxes under that one do I leave them alone?
Close to giving up but I must be close to activating HBA.
