Welcome to the new look VWWatercooled

After much work and little sleep there is a new version of the forums running on more powerful and recent hardware as well as an upgraded software platform.

Things are mostly the same, but some things are a little different. We will be learning together, so please post questions (and answers if you've worked things out) in the help thread.

    I just took delivery of my new Golf "R" Mk7.5.

    I did not receive any SD card or CD with or for the maps. The maps download windows app seem to require a VW SD card.

    Any advice ?

      you can use any SD card to import map updates, as long as it’s big enough. Safe to go for a 64 GB card.

          Has anyone extracted this file error free on extraction?. I get 1761 errors on extraction and if you have extracted and get the errors have you still tried to do the update and does it work?

            I did get the errors on extraction. I don’t recall getting the errors on extraction on the last update. Will try the download again over the weekend. I wouldn’t be game to try to proceed with the update if there is corruption.

                  Traffic Message Channel = TMC
                  If you apply coding to activate this on your VW it will provide you FM based messages on traffic conditions and flow which are visible on the map.
                  You need to search through these posts to find out more information.

                    Just downloaded the latest maps for my Tiguan - took about 2 hours via the software and I didnt get any issues... but mine is discovery Media so might be a bit different...

                    RE the TMC - does anyone have the software/cable who wants to enable this for me? I am happy to trade for a beer/rum

                      I installed version P68_N60S5MIBH3_ROW_NT a couple of months ago before the current version was released and TMC works fine for me.

                                Yup mine just came back dud through a download manager that has never failed me once.
