Maps update

I just took delivery of my new Golf "R" Mk7.5.

I did not receive any SD card or CD with or for the maps. The maps download windows app seem to require a VW SD card.

Any advice ?

you can use any SD card to import map updates, as long as it’s big enough. Safe to go for a 64 GB card.

I give up!!!!
Have tried twice at home on my "fast" ADSL2 broadband connection (3.5mbps ) each one taking 20+ hours to complete.
Both failed when unzipping with errors.
Tried 3 times at work (10MB/s), 2 failed when downloading, 1 when unzipping.

i just downloaded it. Took about 70 minutes. Extracting it now. I was having similar problems last update. Very frustrating with borked downloads. Used a download manager both times now and it’s come down quickly and without dropouts.

Has anyone extracted this file error free on extraction?. I get 1761 errors on extraction and if you have extracted and get the errors have you still tried to do the update and does it work?

I did get the errors on extraction. I don’t recall getting the errors on extraction on the last update. Will try the download again over the weekend. I wouldn’t be game to try to proceed with the update if there is corruption.

Reverted back to May 2017 maps ( P65_N60S5MIBH3_ROW_NT) as TMC does not work with the newer version at this stage.
I'll wait until the navigation.com site is updated.

Apologies for the likely stupid question, but what does TMC stand for?

Traffic Message Channel = TMC
If you apply coding to activate this on your VW it will provide you FM based messages on traffic conditions and flow which are visible on the map.

Just downloaded the latest maps for my Tiguan - took about 2 hours via the software and I didnt get any issues... but mine is discovery Media so might be a bit different...

RE the TMC - does anyone have the software/cable who wants to enable this for me? I am happy to trade for a beer/rum

I installed version P68_N60S5MIBH3_ROW_NT a couple of months ago before the current version was released and TMC works fine for me.

Yup mine just came back dud through a download manager that has never failed me once.

Any other link options?
