"R" logo projected from the bottom of the door so when you open the door, it projects a 20x20cm image onto the ground. Only seen a photo at this stage and don't have one myself, photo that is. But very tempted.

Didn't change the static cornering lights. Didn't know that was possible. Is it a self service job and how much? link maybe?

Will keep the whole forum posted on the voice thing. If all goes according to planed I will have the answer on how to get it done. Then again, it could all go to **** and I will be back to square one
Mate, what is the coming home/leaving lights enabled do? I have no idea about any of this stuff on my car

I had no choice as all cars available had this option. If I didn't want it, I had to wait 5-6 months

      • Coming home/leaving convenience lighting is configurable through the car infotainment system. You can even increase the number of seconds they stay on. C'mon guys this feature was even available on the mk5 GTI

        • when you jump out of the car, close and lock the door, all exterior lights (headlights, tail lights) all stay on for a selectable time.
Have mine set to 30 seconds (I think that could be the max) so that there is light around the car as I am getting my stuff from the day out of it.

I saw others post (when referencing how hard it is to see the MODE switch next to the DSG selector) that the MODE button on the wheel does the same. Is this a config issue or only for non-DA equipped cars?
Did you manage to get any answers on this? The button on the end of the indicator stalk is very useless only enabling the ability to turn on and off ACC or something. Have forgotten exactly what it does.
If it brought up the Driving Mode menu on the dash, that would be awesome.

              • If you want to know the differences between the different driving modes you can hit information under the driver modes on their screen. It will tell you the different settings each has. On the individual setting the information button is replaced with a setup button for you to pick your own settings. The worse thing about the R so far is trying to figure out what you don't have in the manual. How is it that the top of the line has less features? Just as well it drives brilliantly.

If you want a similar model with all the bells and whistles, you buy an Audi S3 Sportback, but if you want the model with the better driving and handling package, you buy the Golf R. VAG really have all bases covered, even if you disagree with their business model in Australia. Demand for both models far exceed supply, so all complaints on this subject simply fall on deaf ears.

                  • Wasn't park assist 2 deleted from AU-spec Golf 7's because one crashed into a ute's tray? Still seems to be on the Octavia though.

                    • So in regards to the lights and drive mode, what does everyone do? Do you just leave the lights on auto? And drive around in normal?

                        • Part of me wants to suggest that perhaps Lamborghini and Veyron designers were involved - there are a few subtle similarities in form/proportions that I'm picking up. Looks good - if anything too good for a VW

                          • Lights in auto, works well, don't have to think about it.

Drive do you mean "mode": normal is default works well. I occasionally use individual and choose comfort suspension or on long freeway drives put it in "eco" mode. I did try race mode the other day, incredible difference, suspension rock hard and hunkered down on the road, steering heavy and then I launched it, what a rush! (car was at normal operating temp and have done 1k km so happy to give it a burl

Blabba any pictures of this 2?, It would be appreciated, thanks.
