Blabba any pictures of this 2?, It would be appreciated, thanks.

Basically the lights on the boot don't activate by default, only the outer clusters. Same with the GTI PP lights, thinking of getting mine coded as well.

That's odd... how come they're not on by default?

            • Seat Adjustments:
On the R, are the seat bases adjustable for tilt, in either the cloth or leather seats ?
I have never managed to find the ideal position on my GTI, due to the angle of the seat base.

                • Where'd you drive to DrK?

Also will put up some photos when I get a chance on the lights I changed. Hard to take a photo of the brake lights when nobody else around.

Drive: Volkswagen Golf R v Subaru WRX STI

1,200+kms on the clock now and still loving every second of it. Just gave it a full wash (two-bucket) + Opti-gloss wipe down. The scrap at the bottom right of my front lip is annoying as so I'm looking to get some touch up paint to fix it up soon.

                      • I went into Subaru the other just to have a sticky beak at the WRX.... Found it very dated on the inside and not the nice outside either but that is just my opinion... However the highlight of the trip was when I got talking to the sales guy about the gearboxes, he said and I quote "the cvt gearbox in the WRX is the single best gearbox on the market".... This man needs to go drive a golf

The best gearboxes are the 8-speed and now 9-speed ZF automatic transmissions. Testers rave about the lightening speed and smoothness of gear changes, along with exceptional fuel fuel economy. Here's what Autoweek had to say: An introduction to 8-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions - Autoweek

Absolutely. However I was never going to buy one just seeing what the competition is up too

From what I can gather all non-LED and LED tail lights in Golf Mk6 and Mk7 models utilise the outer lamps for brake lights only. It appears the LED technology in the Mk7 allows customisation to give the desired result many in this thread think should be standard. I too share this sentiment. This and other tweaks are a good excuse to justify purchasing a genuine VCDS cable.
