Replaced to old battery today. Was definitely past it’s used by date, the positive terminal was cover so badly in corrosion . I don’t think it was even the correct battery in the first place and wasn’t coded to the car either. All sorted now
Just pour some baking soda over a terminal like that and will clean it off
Already done that a few times. The battery couldn’t hold a charge, would struggle to start the car and threw up a bunch of afs and hill hold errors this afternoon
I don’t think it was even the correct battery in the first place
That battery is fine for the Golf Mk7 - I run exactly the same Century DIN65LH AGM model in my MY18 Passat. The battery hold-down clamp and battery tray have different bolt holes to suit different size batteries for different applications.
Sounds like the battery is dead though, that's for sure.
Cheers mate, definitely will take take some pics when the coils are fitted, hopefully they go at least a little lower than where it sits now but I’m getting mixed information online. At least they should ride a lot better. You still tracking that s3?
yep still tracking the s3 but wasn't out much last year. I have a few plans for it this year and going to get to the track as much as possible...
it looks you've wasted no time on the new ride a usual. keen to see how that mahoosive turbo turns out, keep us posted...
New turbo is in along with bigger port injectors, bigger lpfp, 4 bar map sensors, flex sensor and a few other things. Got everything installed and tuned 999automotive with ecotune’s reflex stage 3 ecu and DSG tune. Car made around 310kw on 98 and around 345kw at the wheels on e85, they kept the power levels sensible to keep the stock engine in one piece. Really happy with how the car drives with the new setup and tune. Very civilised when just cruising around but goes crazy when putting your foot into it. You definitely notice the higher boost threshold with the bigger turbo but it comes on like a light switch around 4k rpm and pulls really strong all the way to redline. Super happy with the results and keen to get this thing to a track soon
