True, though the tune tends to makes it a little more edgy. I have found that the increased torque provides more useable power at the bottom end and makes traffic a much easier proposition. Rarely use to top end capability. Initially it is a bit rabid but now that it has settled in it is much nicer to drive.
I drove Chylld's non tuned version a week ago and although still a weapon you can feel the difference in how the power is delivered and it is not as smooth.

naa.. I was happy with the stock config as you are, just wanted a bit more and knew that tuning it would get more from the stock platform. I have no real pull to start fiddling with the hardware.

Well see what the MKVII brings, I posted a link with the mods for the GTI I suspect the R will get tweaked as well.. Havn't seen anyone do the water kit

I still have the water kit I made for my Forester. Haven't looked at the headlight washer system in the R but should be able to tap into easy enough and add a new supply

Talking of MkVII specs - any word on the number of gears?
I never thought I would say this but I could go a 7th (if it's good enough for Porsche...). Surely the engine could pull 2000rpm or less at 110kph, instead of ~2500rpm that mine pulls in 6th?
I assume the manual and DSG are close, if not the same, in terms of ratios.
One of the most annoying things on the golf is the disparity between D and S on the DSG.
D is quite possibly "Docile" instead of "Drive"
"S" is too "stupid" for daily drives.. even for the spirited driver.... 60km/h and I have to hope it gets into third...let alone 4th etc etc....
a middle ground "M" (or for quirkyness sake,we could have it "G" for generic, thus completing the trifecta of D S G) would be nice.... can't be that hard to include a factory fitted button to alter the shift points on the car could it???
More opportunites have been lost from indecision, rather than wrong decision....
