Edit: Still, in every other car I've got with parking sensors they are enabled automatically when driving at slow speeds, so I stand by my stupidity for not realising I had to manually engage the sensors when I want to use them.

In other news, just installed Volkswagen Racing's "Quickshift Gearchange" in the shortest throw position and I have one word to describe it: AWESOME.

The more boost you run the more pronounced the blow-by will be and certainly the piston to bore clearances will differ amongst all the cars which is why you will see some owners complaining about excessive oil consumption. So maybe your just lucky.

My own car is actually not too bad but some customers cars sheezus !!! or maybe its simply because you've never experienced the awesomeness of a proper re-calibration with a real man level of tune on it.

The former I'd say as mine has never used oil. My GTI used a bit but not excessive

My commute allows me to use boost a fair amount and I tend to drive it in the 3,000-4,000 band a lot on the way to work but D mode home.

Good to hear a local review. I have been contemplating getting either the VWR or HPA short shift kit for my car. I used to have the DieselGeek short shfter but didnt like it. Currently ive got the 42DD solid shifter bushings which made a nice difference to the feel of the gear changes, although they do not shorten the throw.

The 42DD bushings remove the rubbery feel that the shifter has, so they might be a good (and cheap at $50) option for you to add to the VWR shifter.

I'll definitely consider that. Have you got pics of the bushings Lucas? Can you snap one of the shifter mechanism on your car?

OK, so did you install 2? One in each location (i.e. upper right and lower left rods?)

Yes you replace both, but i only got photos of one of them. One bushing is a circular shape, and the other is rectangular. The one in the pics is the circular one.

The stock ones are a hollow rubber.

Shifter looks good. Where did you source it from and price if you dont mind sharing?

Re oil consumption - mine hasnt used a single drop at this stage. Ran it in hard but with mechanical sympathy.
