I have always had the 'tick tick tick' thing.. only seems to happen when I get frustrated with slow cars in front on the fwy and decide to over take them. I have mentioned it to the dealership and they seem to think its normal. If anyone gets a better response would be keen to hear about it.

My Golf 90 TSI didn't really have any issue till they updated the software to 37g7(well actually there was a very slight shuddering when going uphill). soon after the update shuddering got worse and in stop start traffic car shudders way too much and struggles to shift from 5 to 7 stuck at 1200-1400 rpm.one of the service guys tried to convince me its normal and i said i aint buying that and im well aware of the issue, left the car at the dealer and yesterday got a call saying its all due to technical issues but VW Australia has instructed them to replace the dual clutch.. hopefully it will fix it for me.Love the car but im a bit dissapointed that a VW giving me trouble

Ask your dealer, there are various plans but iirc you could pay anywhere between $1500 to $3600 (again that's a very rough gauge so don't quote me on that).
If there's an up-side the clutch manufacturer's business must be doing well

How long does it normally take to replace the clutches, i left the car with dealer for diagnosis on Tuesday dealer said they will probably get the clutch pack on Friday(I remember them saying earlier that the clutch comes from Singapore and it can take a total of 10 days to replace the clutch which i didnt believe, but honestly i thought it comes from Germany??) so dealer reckons the job will probably finish Monday or Tuesday. What do you guys think?

My clutch is coming in from Germany, with a 4 week wait (not sure if that's clutch delivery time or service department availability). Obviously I'm still driving the car and will drop it off for them to work on it, hopefully it's done within a day. I think some parts are stored in Singapore though, as I was once told about a part I might need that would come from there.Last edited by Ryan_R; 15-06-2012, 12:46 PM.

The actual replacement of the clutch in my car took a day - but I was told to expect to be without the car for up to 3 days.. think they only said that as a 'just in case' warning. I was happily surpised when I got a call on the day (arvo) to day that she was all done and ready to be picked up.MY14 Audi S3 - Misano Red, S-tronic, Performance pack with parade red trim.

Mine took 3 days to be done - at first they didn't mention they will replace the clutch but only a DSG software update. The second day they called back and said the clutch has to be replaced as they have taken out the transmission alreadyGolf Mk6 118TSI MY11 | UG | DSG | RCD510 | Dynaudio | MDI | Park Assist | Sport Pack | Opti-coat

Found one online and had a friend help me fit it. There's a thread about it.

Got my car back from the 30k service and got the 37G7 software update done. If you have the rough idle at start-up and this little 0.5 second lag when taking off - this update fixed it for me. The car goes back this week for a closer look at DSG jerky shifting patterns as well as the "tick tick tick" noise. I drove around with the Mechanik for good 30 min to demonstrate this "tick" noise and he said it's called pinckering (I think) and is usually related to bad fuel quality (sub 98 ron). As I always put in the good stuff they are checking the injectors as well to see if this is it. Update next week.
Forgot to mention that I paid $99 for an AC flush and that got rid of the awful smell. Expensive but well worth the $$$Last edited by regu; 18-06-2012, 12:24 PM.2009 | 90TSI DSG | CW
