I think i'm in the same boat as you as I have the same problem on the Golf 118TSI Mark VI but it only occurs during 1st to 2nd then its all good after that.
Accelerating fast removes the shudder and if I put into tiptronic and doesn't shudder at all from 1st to 2nd.
Not sure what the problem is.1st Owner: 2012 Golf GTI Carbon Grey Steel (Manual) - Bluetooth, MDI, 18" Detroits, RVC, Rear Sensors, Privacy Tint, Bi-Xenons, Dynaudio, GIAC, Dieselgeek SS, 034 Pendulum Billet Insert, 034 Engine+Trans Mount, CTS Downpipe

Got my car back after the clutch replacement and the car drove OK for a week and the shudder at certain speeds returned, dealer said they put in an upgraded clutch, i didn't get any paperwork and the dealer said they will claim it under warranty and send me a copy? is that how it normally happens? my problems are not fixed... vibration can be felt especially at 60k, im really fed up with this, i mean come on is there no fix for this? i cant believe so many people drive their cars with this issue. i didn't have a problem at the first place until these guys did that 37g7 software upgrade, that really upsets me!!!
What can i do now? dealer asked me to bring the car back and drive with the foreman and show what its doing, i have already done this before, gosh these people are starting to annoy the hell out of me...
I'm in VIC Do you guys think i can get an assessment done from RACV or VACC and write to VW Australia and then if things don't get fixed write to consumer protection Victoria?
They had recalls in North America due to DSG gear box problems why aren't Aussies doing anything about this?

if the clutch has been damaged and they just did the 37G7 software upgrade then it won't help. Surely entire clutch pack should be replaced - but weird they didn't give you a printed receipt that stated what have been done.
try another dealer if the original one didn't do the job you want - that's what I did after much frustrationGolf Mk6 118TSI MY11 | UG | DSG | RCD510 | Dynaudio | MDI | Park Assist | Sport Pack | Opti-coat

Got a new loan car today with 7spd DSG. Behaves nothing like my 2009 7spd. In tiptronic mode it shift up instantly (mine has a .3 second delay (guess)), and there's none of that pedal lag from take off (except for when the hill start assist is engaged), so it's at least good to see the tech has improved over time.

Wouldn't that be the same as the Polo GTI?

Most people don't notice the fault (if any) until around 30,000kms so you'll have to go on a few more cruises
