I nearly bought an MY09 with Recaros, sp blue, home garage buttons, tv, etc for $61K from an Audi dealer! With 7000km's on it up at Newcastle. Just couldn't justify it over an R or I would have bought it (cause of the wait.)

Seeing you are after a manual there seems to be a lot more availability off the showroom floor, so if you find one that meets your desired spec you may not have to wait at all.

But you must admit it will be hard finding one unless you go interstate etc.. There are none at 5 dealers I've been too. So maybe spec and a bit a drive?

Also a lady was selling her black S3, 25000kms SP with recaros, audio, no tv though, LOW 40s.. Carsales and yes I spoke to her during my "I might settle for a second hand S3" period

Nah I'm with Rex, unless its a Ferrari, I won't ever do this 6mth+ wait for a new car again. I've driven everyone including myself certifiably crazy.

I'm a skeptical person so we'll see. I cant say it will be worth it untill the car is driven and enjoyed. Ive ordered it, so my money is where my mouth is. If my dealer actually gets back to me about the car, and the car delivered to me delivers on quality build, doesnt fall apart or break down on me after this disgusting wait, i might be a VW customer for life.

If it ****s up I'll be a sour for weeks.

And yes I would never wait this long for a car again. Ever. I have officially lost my mind. BUT it has been fun being on here disturbing the damn peace, arguing with everyone. I just want to join the car club now and go for 'da cruises!!

I'm with both dave & Rexman on this one, i'm afraid i'll never wait this long for a new car again either, i know the wait will be worth it for the R but it's been killing me..

Gentlemen, gentlemen patience is a virtue.. I have waited many years for an opportunity like this .. a couple of months in the mix is nothing.. to be fair if you ordered something more available it would still be 2 months before you got it..

Now when you do get your units I am sure the wait will have made it that much mor enjoyable and appreciated..

Yep 6 months is a long time. best to try and keep your mind off it most of the time and keep busy lol! Easier said than done! I'm glad mine has been ordered towards the back end of this year and I have a few weeks of holidays, xmas etc to keep me occupied. That and playing Starcraft 2 amongst other things most nights keeps me busy! hey what can I say don't knock it till you have played it If I had a dollar for everytime my wife said 'are you on that silly game again!!?"... hehehee.

Doing the 6 month wait from early in the year during a work long haul with no holidays etc would be harder to take!

But that is the problem. I've gone stupid spending money on new toys around the house (PC's, H/T etc), finshed a bunch of xbox and ps3 games. I'm running out of stuff (aka cash hehe) to keep my mind occupied.

I look at it a little differently.. 5 months of savings towards resetting my financial position after the impact of of such an outlay. Rather than putting energy into supplementing the craving for your new toy try exerting the same energy into working out how to pay for it.. I am trying to work out how to save for my wife's toy next

LOL that was done before putting down the deposit! The GF's new toy is already paid for so no issues there. Makes it slightly different when you don't have kids to worry about
