Golf R Specifications and Prices

Ahh, I just used the golf R calc set for QLD and entered in his options and what he paid to come up with that figure.

Dermot I believe gave me an ok deal, vic park VW would only offer a $500 discount off RRP and trust me I went in there three times they wouldn't budge and that's with buying a polo as well.

As in off RRP on road, or RRP?

24% off is not possible. From time to time a dealer might say "I wont do that deal". That is for economic reasons, they can get more money. But at 24% off, its more likely to be "I cannot do that deal". Buy a Comfortline instead!

If soemone were to put an offer of 24% in front of me, I would most likely ask that person to leave the dealership, and seriously consider having that sales consultant on my staff.

Off RRP on road, just to be clear this was VIC Park VW that offered me only $500 off.

Dermot who is out in the middle of no where (wangara/wanaroo VW) gave me what I believe to be a great deal, let me test drive the car for an hour or so and put up with my gazillion questions including the "when is my car coming" every couple of weeks.

So ... after passing on the R because there isnt anything available without compromising significantly on spec, I ordered a GTI.

On road for just over $50k. Reasonable deal considering not eligible for any of the fleet/corporate discounts... ?

AND THEN ....

In the time it took for the order to be entered in the system (it was incoming stock, on ship and not due to arrive til beginning Nov), VW had snapped it up from under the dealer and given it to someone else.

I cant win ...

So I guess I may as well just order an R and wait it out.

Keep in mind that dealers are franchises, not "owned by Volkswagen". So just because you can't get what you want from the dealer you're "dealing with", doesn't mean you can't get it elsewhere....
I'm not sure whether dealers can see what other dealers outside of their franchise already have in stock. If they can, I'm not sure whether they can see the stock for dealers outside their state. But what I definitely know is that even if your dealer can find a car that matches your requirements, the other dealer can often refuse to "trade".

3 door manual dead stock would be around $53,960 r.r.p. Drive away.

You might score it for $50-52K? Maybe better I couldn't say further cause on a stock car I don't know how much discount you can get. Maybe get a few options like audio etc and the discount can be even better.

But the issue isn't the price it's more about if you can be bothered waiting.

Orders lodged now are being told June next year or so I have heard..

Seeing you are after a manual there seems to be a lot more availability off the showroom floor, so if you find one that meets your desired spec you may not have to wait at all.
